You are correct, perhaps we have reached the zenith of off road design, and the rest is just fine tuning on a inceamental scale? but for the most the new alterations are attractive to me.

not a bad photo shop job, but you can still see the four stroke head,

and i disagree with the fact that dirt bikes have not changed much in looks in 20 years, a 1990's model bike looks a fair bit different to a 2010

Perhaps, but not as much as say an early 90's FZR1000 and a 2010 R1... if you catch my drift?

i would disagree somewhat, i think a early 90's FZR1000 has more in comman with a '10 R1 than a 1990 ish YZ250 (top mx racer of the day) and a 2010 YZ450F,

the thing bout dirtbikes is they are designed for function, theres not a lot of big changes you can make without compromising function. however theres been lots of small ones, alloy frames, more agressive looking guards, flatter seat, lower gas tank, no more expansion chambers, perhaps you just need to know what you are looking at.

The shopped image looks good, but dunno bout the radiator shroud, looks a bit pointy, and not enough area to scoop in air.
