Really?

But it has to be on exemption for at least the first three months?

And when do you pay from?

IIRC you put it on hold, can do online now https://transact.nzta.govt.nz/transactions/LicensingExemption/entry.aspx, and then when you relicense it you just pay from then onwards. I did hear mention of a $30 fee for it, but don't think i got charge than when I put a car back on the road.

no, its not difficult to understand, put bike on hold. Register bike for on road again. If less than 3 months since put on hold you have to pay rego from day you put it on hold, if more than 3 months, you pay from day you register it for road again.

ok, let me try. Lets say I put my bike on hold for 3 months and 3 days.

1) What is the minimum period I can register it for? I heard somewhere you can do it week by week.

2) After 3 months I reregister it. Can I take it off the road for a week at a time or is the minimum 3 months again.

Hopefully that makes more sense. :-)

1) dunno what the minimum period of registration is, 3 months would make sense though (min check box on form)
2) minimum period of off the road is 3 months (see above)
