According to the TV Guide the Portugal World Superbikes are on Live on Sky Sport 3 (Digital 32) at 5.30am Monday Morning and finishes around 10.00am.
Then it is on for 1/2hr Monday Night at 7.30pm.
Please correct me if that is wrong?.

A bunch of people voicing their opinions over there favourite sport is not a load of crap. It's healthy. And the sport is far from stuffed mate. I haven't seen so many spectators at a circuit meeting aside from the classic festival in quite a few years.

Has Biaggi learned some new skills, or is all that stuff about him never sliding the bike BS? He was definitely sliding the rear on a few corners.

Whats with the proliferation of Poms this year? The bloody gid is full of them! I watched Eurosport coverage downloaded from Racing Underground, they did interviews on the grid, and with the top three or four straight after the race- the Brits were really niggling each other. Should make for an interesting year...it was a bit like a KB racing thread...

Agreed Pete, Like try to tell the racers of late how it was not uncommon to have half the guys that turned up for a race faied to qualify fast enough so a second heat was introduced to the class without points attached. Now days , everyone gets in as far as ive seen.

Racing WAS better in some ways during the 80s , 90s but i like some of the techie bits of todays scene.
Today riders pick a bike they like / can afford and run that for several years where with proddy racing we all had new bikes every year or so and the classes were accordingly competative due to the nature of the class , now its bank roll racing and not nearly as much fun.
It was also not uncommon for one rider to have a bike for each class (eg Robert) and i personally had 2 bikes for 3 classes and went home absolutely rooted but with a few $$$ for my work.

Id like to see a way to combine todays mindset with some of what we had then.

It seems the NZ RR is doing it's best to self destruct. From within MNZ, to the competitors themselves.

There seems to be no attempt to find 'middle ground' from those have such diametrically opposed opinions.

I know motorcyclists by their very nature are individualists - but what's happening is just fucken stoopid. :2guns:

Kawasaki Racing Team's Chris Vermeulen has visited an orthopedic surgeon in Belgium after missing out on the second round of the WSB season at Portimao.


The 27-year-old from Brisbane announced in a blog, posted on his personal website, that he had undergone an arthroscopy operation with Dr Claes last week to help speed up his recovery.


Vermeulen, who spearheads the Kawasaki attack after returning to WSB this year, had an unfortunate start to the year when he damaged his right knee in a high-speed crash in the second race at Phillip Island. After deciding on an early return in Portugal, he was only able to complete two laps of practice on board his ZX-10R before giving up for the rest of the weekend.


The Australian said the operation had been successful, despite the serious damage his knee had suffered, but confirmed that he would miss out on this week's round at Valencia and that he hopes to be fit for round four at Assen at the end of April.
