View Full Version : Formula 1 live timing issues

I have for many years been following F1. I enjoy the real time timing with all sector times and information that http://www.formula1.com/ provides in their "Live Timing".
But now I can not get it to work. I have latest Java installed, but the only thing I get when I open the live timing is a red text on the timing that says: "First timed session....will be practice 1".
Had the same with the Bahrain one two weeks ago. I have sent umphteen requests to their tech site asking what is wrong. But no reply.
So I was hoping that someone here who has deeper tech knowledge than me would have an answer.
NOTE: In the past when opening the live timing outside a race/qualification/practice it would always show the last ones details. Nothin apart from the text I stated can now be seen at any time.

Thanks for suggestion. Tried all 3 but no different.
Any chance someone else would get this on the puter and tell me if they can get the timing working?

I have one. Using SopCast. But if you have a better one... mine tends to be in Chinese. So with the timing I have it all under controll.

I now have sky but the last few seasons i managed to find either a BBC or SpeedTV stream. Try TVU player they used to have speed. SopCast used to have more than the chinese one as well. If i find one i will let you know.

BBC requires that you have a brittish connection. There are places you can go and fool that. But they want $$'s for it. Also have TVU. But both TVU and SopCast have heaps of channels and as they dont have clearly mentioned where F1 is you end up searching while the race is on. Can take 1/2 race before you find it. So I have settled for a Chinese channel that does not lag heaps. And with the timing I had open at same time I did not need to understand the chinks. I have found other timing ones, but the F1 page one was brilliant as it was same as the teams have in the pits.
Any chance you could check if you can get it going...please...

I re-registered a couple of days ago and it worked OK for me tonight. I do get an error saying that my version of Java is too new, but I just clicked on the Run option. This is using Firefox 3.5.8 and Java 6.18

Cheers MacD. That tells me that the issue is with my puter.
I am running Firefox 3.6 and Java 6.18. I re-registered using a different email (Hotmail), but still same issues. Running Avast antivirus and ZoneAlarm wall. Have turned both off but still no go. That is about as far as my technical knowledge goes. Need to find someone that can sort it.
