Went to bed last night cursing life, the universe and everything - y'know how it is - the thought of back at work this morning after a mere half day to myself...

Woke up feeling pretty good for once and decided to go for a pootle - down 39 to Otorohanga and back to Tron. 120km on a very nice road. In xxxxx minutes.

Well, the day was the "mint" bit - fine, coolish - clear (RH 54%) - you could see forever. When I got home my daughter rang to ask if I could call by since it was her birthday (already gave her the pressie). I also had to drop the car for a warrant (only nine days overdue this time). And the day was rapidly getting complex. Then the thought snuck in the back door...it said..."Fuck work. Why doncha piss off all day on the bike? Look at that air! How often is it this clear? Gwannnnnn, ya pussy, HTFU!" Of course, I was appalled at such dereliction of duty! "My public! Where will they buy their booze??" And the back door thought said "they'll buy it at the fucking supermarket like they always bloody do, ya dork!" So after 0.5 of a second I decided to listen to the back door thought for once.

Dropped off the cage for the warrant - (like who gives a shit). Visited the daughter and two grandies. And took to the Coro Loop. Finally. I have promised myself to do this all summer and here we are in autumn and still not done. So I went despite the crappy (and accurate) forecast for Coro peninsula. It was indeed manky over there - cloudy and blowing like forty bastards. And a few Km of damp roads. Whitianga was the last place you'd wanna be today - water was grey and all the trees were horizontal. And the only coffee shops open didn't "do" pies :shit: as regular food...(Fatt Max - DON'T go there!!)

Apart from a few "incidents" (like "FUCK! This corner goes on forever!!") on the Tairua hill all went pretty well. Oh and the Coromandel hippie in the van coming over the hill into Coromandel town who sat at 10km/hr and hogged the centre line until I just about lost the back end cranking the throttle to pass him. Oh yes - and the front end side step on a stone somewhere along the way I forget just where...nothing like a little adrenalin to perk up the day. I had to get off again at Thames to let my legs and bum unnumb (they still hurt but some vino is helping that...)

Crossed at Kopu and went in to Te Kauwhata via Okaeria Road. This is one cool road after all the tight stuff on Coro. Windy but open - several consecutive ess bends. No traffic! :devil2:

So all in all, a better Monday than usual. :sunny:

Sounds like a gerat day slofox. Just starting Monday here, should have followed your lead! Got out for a quick 120 miles yesterday, rear (tyre!) nicely scrubbed in. Bit later in the day than I'd normally go so traffic wasn't great *dreams of those fantastic NZ roads*

Damn. If I had known, I would've done just that. Mind you, it was a bit spur of the moment. Didn't really have time to think much...next time mate.

Oh, wonders! :D

I've been on the Loop once and it was superb. Next on my list is the East Cape ( which I'm a bit embarrassed about admitting I haven't done yet! Considering it's on my back doorstep )

Ahhhh.... Monday........
