Have'nt ridden my trusty big KX for a few months but, it's happening soon ...thought I'd check the spokes before the marshalls clink their screwdriver round the wheel at the start of the next ride and give me the possible thumbs down.. so I checked them out

Though it'd take 10 min, took me an hour and most of the spokes were giving a dull noise when I tapped 'em , so I tightened the dull ones....time well spent and I'll sleep better now. Time well spent methinks ......

Hope the tree's ok, shouldn't be a prob to square it up via the spokes. I just need a good hammer , a crescent and some autosolv to shine away the massive indendations the hammer will leave on your rims, book it in when you can mate.

probably a dumb question but ...
what happens if you have loose spokes? i'm new to bikes with spokes and mine seems to have a few that could use a tighten.

When spokes come loose- your wheel will crumple when you land from a jump. (that is a bad thing)
the nipples will frett in the alloy rim wearing bigger holes. ( that is a bad thing too)
you can strip your rear hub from your wheel assembly under hard acceleration (that is also a bad thing)
You can fuck yourself completely in an accident caused by a collapsing wheel (that is a very bad thing)
You can miss out on riding with your mates and drink all their beer before they return (that is possibly a bad thing) - depends on your mates...

Shit Hot!

Lack of rear suspension won't be a problem will it

Road Bikes have done it for years so, what's the problem with one -piece wheels for Dirt Bikes ?

Not cost effective ? .....Hmmmmmm

combination of stress distribution and weight, road bike generally have fewer spokes so a less capable of dealing with big impacts, and the ones that are capable are too heavy, thats my theory anyway.

So have I got it right, jumping the trump will be sweet, as long as I land doing a stoppie, yeah? Spectacular!

Not sure that you can get any less suspension then none in the rear & girder front B0000M  but hell I'm game :Punk:

You may have a point there Bogan man though, i'm not totally convinced .......I guess the fact that mountain bikes still have spokes is case in point....I'll hang on to my spoke spanners ........
