A N.Z soldier, who blatantly tried to stab his sleeping room-mate to death (stabbed him in the face, then all subsequent stabs were at his hands and arms which were trying to cover his face)
recieved a whopping 7 1/2 years jail, with no minimum parole period, to give the parole board maximum flexibility......(WTF!!!!???)

There is no doubt about it reading the article, this dickless cowardly piece of shit really tried to kill this guy......he was such a tough guy he did it whilst he was asleep.... Oh and to make it better, his excuse was because he was curious.....Fucken hell.

Another joke of a justice system decision.

7 1/2 years.......pffft, that crime qualifies for my pit-of-death......

What the fuck. Seriously. Since when has attacking a fellow member of the military not been taken seriously as an offence.

How does somebody that messed up even come to be in the military. "Curious".

Damn it.

Oh there's plenty of "special" and "smart" personnel to come across, across the whole defence force! The best bit is, if they can stay under the radar they'll stay in forever because they know they wo'nt survive on the outside because they're thick as pig-shit and know they wo'nt find decent employment and/or too lazy. These people eventually end up supervisory positions. This is not the rule but it's common.

I literally do'nt have the energy to get into it, but there are so many I would'nt trust to work unsupervised as a rubbish man, you do'nt want to know what trades they're in or their job titles.......

Sounds like a bullshit convenient excuse to me. I bet he was'nt touched. If he was, it's a poor excuse, as a n adult he had plenty of opportunity to get help, and knew it was wrong.

As afr as i'm concerned he's a piece of shit through and through and needs an axe to the brain.

ah, I know this will be unpopular, but it seems to me that the Judge has been privvy to certain material facts that we aren't....it mentions unreported sexual abuse in regards to the offender. There is more to this than meets the eye.

My sincere sympathies to the victim, and I feel pity for the offender as well.

Normal 17 year old boys in NZ society don't randomly try and kill their workmates.

The Army is full of bullies, and this may have been the straw that broke the camels back in regards to the offender in this case.

Pit of death in this case? no, Save the pit of death for teenagers that kick little babies to death.

We don't want the pit full when it comes to the real oxygen thief's!

Au contraire.. I can think of one career choice where being thick as pigshit (etc.) is a positive benefit.

That's where the accidents are happening, sir..

It doesn't work like that. From what I've heard.. If you fail the test, you get in the police. If you pass the test, you get into Customs :)

They have tightened up recruiting. Defence it's trying to save money, the recession affected recruiting because people do'nt want to leave due to the reported job shortages outside. (I think it's only prisoners and defence personnel who ask each other, "when are you getting out" lol)

mmm, nah, if you fail the tests they offer you the Army, if you fail NZFS testing you go to the Police. (Who I hear are also tightening the belts/word of mouth so could be bull)

Just out of curiousity, what did you fail in the testing? They are all pretty similar across the board.....I'd know i've done three.

According to my old best teenage years mate who is now in police recruiting, being smart is not a good thing!

No shit, thats what he said to me.

Absoluetly true.

They want brain-dead rugby players who have no imagination or thought patterns, but who can fiollow the book absolutely to the letter.

Where do you think the term "Mr Plod" oames from?

Mate of mine had a theory:

Drop 10 crims (the bad ones to start with) on a deserted island.

Airdrop 9 knives onto the island - with a note that the last crim standing gets released.

Once you're down to 1, "forget" to go pick him up.

Film it, and sell the rights to "reality" TV to cover your costs.

Rinse, and repeat.

Crime and punishment, law and order, justice and corrections and specifically "Judges"!

Just some names of the funny jokes in this country!

I was hoping for something better from this government but just like all the rest, nothing so far! :shifty:

I know people who have suffered sexual abuse that made my toes curl and they've led a "normal" life... they don't go out of their way to hurt others. They exercise their choice and correctly choose right from wrong... whereas this guy purposefully set out to kill someone under the guise of curiosity... it was a premeditated attack... what did he think was going to happen? Knife, face, stab stab stab, she'll be right... I seem to recall some fella that recently stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death, he obviously has problems, but he got 18 years... the legal system is a joke.

Just out of curiousity, what did you fail in the testing? They are all pretty similar across the board.....I'd know i've done three.Math and logic, while aparantly the other two were something like 100%. I guess I just assumed myself to be able to do the math, but forgot how long it's been since I have had to do anything without a calculator (which is all you need to finish high school maths:gob:), or maybe I just didn't work fast enough because I was nowhere near finished, and as for logic I guess I just over analyzed, judging by how easy it was to do a similar test a teacher who is ex navy printed out for me once I was shown the errors of my ways haha. I.e Rant, R*nt, Rint, Ront is pretty obviously just vowels, but here I was thinking there must be some kind of complex pattern of letter intervals that I wasn't getting... Smart i is

According to my old best teenage years mate who is now in police recruiting, being smart is not a good thing!

No shit, thats what he said to me.Couldn't be too smart or I'd have passed the test:blink:

Probably. I was also under the impression that you need to be at EFL level to go into AARC (hence "ENTRY-fitness-level") but the recruiter told me the stats for RFL G1
