I know this should really be in the stuff wanted thread but thought more people likely to see it here.
Does anyone know where I could find a reasonable small lathe? Any dealers, engineering or similar businesses closing down? Maybe auctions ? Ideally in Lower NI but would be willing to travel. Also large pillar drill.

If you live in the city or town and have access to engineering works, you should cost out the difference in cost between having the money tied up in equipment and the cost of getting the work done by the workshop!
You may be surprised how much the difference is and then that money can be used on your project or invested!
Of course if you are remotely situated away from such services, you are probably on the right track!
Or are you just a hobby machinist, I guess then cost doesn't matter!
