There are a few of you out there sending me messages asking what happened on my way to the Thursday night ride
Well I was only about 1/2 a km from when I was taken out by a blind geriatric.
Not another vehicle in sight and perfect visibility the driver on a roadway my left decided to pull out and turn right when I was less than 20ft from him.Luckily I was only doing about 30k or it could be a lot worst. I ended up wearing the handle bars in my ribs, broken toe and some bruising. Not too much damage to the bike,I think.

And he was done for what? Hopefully careless causing injury but I'm thinking more like failing to give way, if anything.

I rode it back to G51's place, its not too bad, mostly levers, lights, scratchs, tank damage, a few things bent but it will be a few $ to repair.

Someday someone will invent a visible bike - clearly this guy couldn't see your invisible one.
Hard luck on the crash, that really sucks!

ouch. Pleased you are on the mend..even more pleased you have an alternate means of rallying.
How long before you find out what the driver will be charged with? surely careless use causing injury would be a starter?

Did the Tosser actually apologise?
They always apologise, it goes "I'm sorry mate, I didn't see you". I've never heard of a car vs bike accident where the car driver hasn't said that.

Tell the idiot"wait till you're in a OLD people mover(one with a flag)and riding along the footpath, then I'll get you back"
Bloody old buggers, can't see road users, can't see footpath users when they drive their scooters or cars, guess we can't win,get them off the damn road and they graduate to footpaths.
