There are a few ACDC votes....IMO the best Music is the one that matches a particular piece of road for example ACDC 14.5 minute version of Jail Break matches the road from Kingston towards Queenstown around the staircase.

Start playing as you pass Kingston then at the 6 min 14second mark, when you hit the first tight leftie over the bridge, the Drum and Guitar duo kick in. For the next 8 minutes the tempo volume and intensity build matching the road as it opens up and get faster....perfect match.

Then for cruising there is Ride on or she's got the Jack...

Our Zeppelin covers band learnt a bunch of Purple before it became a pure Zeppelin thing, including Burn (definite contender for hardest song ever to play), might be working in a half hour opening set of it though.

....to avoid thread hijacking though, another suggestion: The entire Led Zep 70+ song catalogue, on random. Will get you from Christchurch to Auckland or more. Now that's a ride.
