I suppose it's a pity that Buell never got to build the bike they wanted, but the guy was told at the start not to sign the contract.

The problem with big companys run by bean counters.
So many good/interesting ideas flushed down the drain...or sent to the crushers!!!

Microsoft operate the same business model. Buy out the competition, drain the ideas. Park them then release something to market when you are ready and claim you are the innovator.
