View Full Version : Shaun Harris IOMTT
I saw on the messageboard there that Mr Harris won't be competeing at this years TT due to lack of sponsorship..
He was offered the bike he road last year but declined saying if he was going to compete it would be to win and he did wan't to just make up the numbers.

From what ive heard, He has annoyed alot of people in his time.
He is fast, ill give him that. But what he hasnt realised is that those people who he has stood on or yelled at etc, talk to other people, and that does not equal a person to carry a corperate name.
It sounds like all these actions have finally caught up to him.

Yea alot of people have asked me why he hasn't gone futher in his time riding & above is what I tell them . Top rider but as seen at Wanganui , bike etc doesn't go right & he throws his Toys out of the Cot & packs up & goes home . Great way to treat your sponsor NOT .

I knew him when he lived in Cowtown.
I could see how people could get annoyed...

Do you reckon maybe he could have just had enough? Or is he as bad as everyone says.

Nothing new.
He was an annoying little goit ten years ago.

Don't forget he's done some good stuff too - I've seen him helping out and offering advice to up-and-coming young racers.

He's always been one of the first people to stand up for rider safety at briefings and as riders rep. Also he had a try at improving the marketing of the Road Race Champs last year but good 'ol Kiwi apathy (or doing it on our own) got the better of his plans...so not all has fallen to the dark side

His advice to me on safety gear (when he worked at NP Cycles), was "just wear 2 pairs of jeans, like I do".
He's a feisty little prick! A good rider but, in this Corporate image age, its not what you do, but how it looks to the sponsors, that seems to carry the day.
