Hi, was hoping someone could help me find anywhere in Chch that will do further road training to help further my ability. Have only been riding On Learners for 4 months but think I need some help ensuring I am riding correctly.

Also any info on starting some racing such as 150/250cc would be most apprieciated.

Thanks

Welcome to Kiwibiker.
You have come to the right place.... There are plenty of people in Christchurch who will be willing to Mentor you.

Also, the scene scene in 150/250's is HUGE down there....

The restricted test isn't very hard. All you have to do is ride around town and not wobble like a fool and not break any laws.

I don't think that is really the point, or a very good attitude there DB.

There is NOTHING wrong with having MORE skills than the test requires.
Too many people do JUST ENOUGH to PASS the test these days, and it basically means the test pass mark is the upper level of knowledge/ skill obtained, not the minimum.

We must remember that motorcycling isn't something you want to Fudge.
That is what gets you hurt, or worse, quickly.

I commend zeemax for asking for help, I wish more would!

Have to say get your drift, I think 4 months requires more training... I am now 6 months and 2 weeks into my learners, and still nervous about doing my restricted, yet more experienced riders that have been TAC, say I ride well... you can never be too good... I am not doing anything extra to get better, just lots of riding in different conditions. Practicing doing the things I should 1 to 2 feet down, looking, and not speeding haha (that one is hard). :)

I had hoped to allay fears about the test - not suggest that no training be undertaken. I think the OP is persuaded that he needs training, and I agree with him completely, just as I did (edit:needed training).

Indeed,
Sometimes it may well appear that a motorcycle is being ridden well. BUT there may be than ONE situation that the seemingly confident rider really packs themselves and does the totally wrong thing!
I'm not saying that you have to experience Every situation, as that is impossible, but it is really all about the confidence that you have to deal with the unexpected.
The more relaxed you are when you come across it, and the more you can back your own skills, the better you are, as you will have more time to deal with it.....
Rather than the OH F... I'll just Freeze, and Crash right here....

Don't force yourself ever to do the next level of licence if you don't feel you are up to it.

Thanks for the advice, think I will just go for the restricted when i feel ready for it. Might have to go on some big long rides rather than just commuting at least its more time on the bike.

Once you have done it, you will look back and think how easy it was.
