Hiya all,

Been a while since I posted last. Been packing as I've sold the house and moving out next weekend to a rental for awhile till I build. Been so busy haven't been out on the bike for three weeks which is a record so managed to pull black beauty out of the garage and go for a spin on some of my favourite roads.

Man, it was awesome. Bumped into a young fellow called Rob on a 250 hornet. He had really good lines and could punt that thing along. Had a good chat with him and got on my way.

First time I ever saw a cop on the rpad from Kaiua to Mangatangi. Front brake got a good workout.

Man I loved being out on the bike. Gave it some herbs and had a ball. Then I got to thinking about my mate Gary. I used to ride with him a lot and shit I miss him heaps. Weird that he's gone, doesn't seem right.... I can't remember when I went on a group ride last and even when I rode with someone else. A good thing? Perhaps but I miss riding with other people, it's been a long long time since all the peeps I know on KB had a decent ride together.

Maybe it will never happen again seeing we have to be so careful about repurcussions and possible kickbacks from the law if all goes wrong.

I like riding and will always ride but I miss riding with all my old buddies and the groups we used to kick around the Coro with.

Things change I know but for the better? Dunno. It' s all different and so many are gone for good or have given up road riding. 53 in this coming week and I like to think I'll be riding when I'm an old bugger :)

Where to now? I'm up in the air. Things have changed a lot. Used to have 70+ peeps on a ride, now there's nothing. Maybe safer but a lot less fun for sure.

Hello Paul - long time no hear!

All a question of personal taste about riding in groups and that's exactly how it should be! Personally, I'm only happy riding with a handful of people I trust implicitly. Maybe that's why I'm still riding at 62. There again, I'm the old bugger you refer to, so I'm allowed to be contrary and cranky from time to time.

Safe riding,

Geoff

Yeah things do change Paul.
I would rather ride with smaller groups of 4-5-6 now.
Have just as much fun, well more so really than when you are with 40-50 bikes in my opinion.
Things change for many reasons, but its mostly for the better, wait and see mate.

What about a trackday? Lots of like-minded people there and pretty hard to get mangled on the track.

Out today all by myself, never waved or spoke to anyone. All by myself doing my own thing, the only way to ride.

Out today all by myself, never waved or spoke to anyone. All by myself doing my own thing, the only way to ride.

When I was young, I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
Those days are gone

Living alone, I think of all the friends I've known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody's home

All by myself, I don't want to be
All by myself...anymore
All by myself, I don't want to live
All by myself...anymore

Hard to be sure
Sometimes I feel so insecure
And love's so distant and obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself, I don't want to be
All by myself... anymore
All by myself, I don't want to live
All by myself anymore

All by myself, I don't want to be
All by myself...anymore
All by myself, I don't want to live
All by myself.....Anymore......

Yeah, I'm gettin' a bit ansty as the bike's been sitting forlornly in the back of the garage while I've been busy building the businesses and I've missed Paeroa and all the charity rides this year!

Needs Rego and service and a clean but the bank account has been ravaged! I miss riding it to work as I have to take the car or van for business during the day. Still, I'll get it back on the road hopefully soon...
