Hi all,

On Saturday a bunch of us met up at the Tiko pub to discuss the finer details of our up and coming Hawkes Bay Rally/Booze up - most of which we got ironed out and Dooly has put a post up advising the finer details.

However, we are still trying to decide of which day Saturday/Sunday to have our big ride day on. It would be helpful if all our out-of-town friends could let us know which day you are expecting to arrive on Friday or Saturday and likewise when you are planning on heading home either the Sunday or the Monday...???

Cheers Tate

kids are sussed, its the bloody bike is the issue. May be turning up in the mummyvan- with as many bits of the bike as i can fit in the back

If I do end up sans bike, i might be able to take anyone else who wants to go but has similar problem. Any Wellyans interested?

Arrive Friday and home Sunday. Ratti, I can meet up with you and any Welly people in Pahiatua or thereabouts.
All invasions should be carried out with maximum personnel.

righteo Dadpole. Paihiatua it is. I'll pm you my text number. How long does it take to get to where we are going? It's actually marked on the map I have so that should make things a lot easier.

bugger it I am so tempted to go get that beemer so I can ride down, but who knows? Maybe an extra recovery vehicle will come in handy.

Under 1.5 hours from Woodville.
Up HW2, thru Dannevirke, turn left at the Tui sign (Takapau) onto HW50, stay on that until you turn off left at Tait Rd (there's a wagon wheel I think under a wooden sign that says Stoney Creek Ranch)

Dooly

Usually, (depending how fast you go) about 30 mins approx (slowly) from HW50 turnoff to Tait rd.
Or about 5 mins after the last, and third 1 way bridge.

Get the Beemer too.:scooter::yes:

Wot time to meet in Paihiawotsit? and how long will it take to get from Hutt to there?

I might have a quick look around next week and see if anyone has an R beemer rather than that k100. Ima bit nervous of the computer thingy on it crapping out and not being able to replace it.

Maybe I can send my Kawa GPZ11 down to you in a courier bag and you ride that up.
Its for sale.:drool::2thumbsup

Ratti
8th April 2010, 20:20
yes, well, stand by is all I can suggest. I have a map and as long as nothing has been shifted I shouldbe right. Just not familiar with that corner of the island so nto sure about times. Hopefully Dadpole knows his way about.

ok with me Jase. Do we get an offiicial escort with flags, flashing lights and loudspeakers playing somethign appropriate?

COme to think of it, what will be the official song for the rally? Kinda like the scouts singing 'ging gang gooly gooly wotsit ging gang gong"

MSTRS

I'm sure we can come up with suitably changed lyrics to the old song 'The working class can kiss my arse - I've got the boss's job at last'...
We could start with "Modern bikes are all the same - my old iron is hard to tame"...

I will see if I can find a chopper flag like Nice One Stewy Dennison had in the 70s

I'm gutted actually - I've been working all over for a bit (back on the tools) and angled to have that weekend free but a cunning plan around easter has backfired horridly on me... I even prepped up the 1970 Trophy for the trip but dammit! Sigh!

I might have been able to swap a weekend but the next weekend is Vicki birthday and even I know when to stop!

Paul, At least the Trophy has had some TLC and get a good local ride, maybe a birthday ride with Vicky

UM - we sort of have an arrangement....

She pretends to like motorbikes and drinking too much while I pretend to like DIY and gardening... Best not push it on her special day, besides, she deserves a treat this year I reckon!

Yeah I talked to a woman yesterday, she got the flu, came out of nowhere. She had no cold, no cough, no nothing and was just suddenly very sick. True :yes:

It can happen so quickly, eh?
Lots of fresh air and sunshine is the cure, to be sure....and keeping your fluid intake high, as well :whistle:
