Well after finally getting my bike looked over and then waiting for honda to get a price list together, then coming to an arragment with mike i had the bad news.
Sure we can get parts ..... bloody EX - JAPAN  .
So now i have to wait a further 2 weeks minimum for parts :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:
So i have marked a rough date on the calander and have started counting down the minutes (also getting the shock rebuilt while it has no engine in it / pulled to bits)
Not to take anything away from the mighty cbx400 but it has been an interesting few days in the rain

Ps what happend to your bike?
It didn't like going into 2nd gear at high revs and when i went on the rally as soon as i starting pushing it a bit it started (all be it finely) spraying oil on my boot / left hand side of the rear tyre...... not fun.
Oh and p.s. i actually ride it quite a bit quicker than the last time you saw me on ot

dunno mate... your bikes seem to develop mech problems faster than mine so I'm a little nervous you might give the gixxer some bad ideas if I loan it to ya!

I really love (NOT!!! ) the way that Honda keep very few parts in stock, and it seems to almost always be, "Ah yeah - that'll be 3 weeks, ex-Japan..."
I can understand BWH not keeping everything for every model of bike in stock, but I've had to wait for stuff that you'd think would be really common, like VTR brake caliper seals, and sundry nuts'n'bolts.
I'm travelling by car, yesterday and today, due to waiting on one small $3 part. Luckily (by some amazing fluke!!) it IS in stock at BWH, so when it arrives at AMPS I'll be mobile again.
(I was going to post a thread about this, but it seems anything with a pic in it gets chucked back by the server, so I'll try again later from home....)

Well at least my cb is a mighty cbX400F ... it's the X and F that make all the difference. It's also lost some bafling and had the rev counter removed for increased preformance :Punk: :Punk:

Right a little update . With it being the 1 month anneversary of my bike being in the shop and 2 weeks since i ordered the parts i thought that i would give the boys a ring and see what's up......
Well i ring up and ask what's happening with the cibber parts and so he goes away for a few minutes , leaving me in nervous anticipation, then he returns.
The it happens oh sorry 1 of the parts are on back order.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
BACK ORDER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 back freaking order!!!!!!!! when ordering ex-japan ....... that would mean that they didn't even have any parts made up yet .
So here i sit not being able to go on any rides and riding a bike that more or less basically doesn't like the dry never mind the wet. sigh*
So the wait continues
The reason why they tell you 3 weeks ex Japan, is because the lazy wasters only place the order as part of their stock order, so they can buy it cheaper. Same as most dealers do, well with Blue Wing you use to be able to be able to place two stock orders per month to Blue Wing Honda (NZ distributor) you wouldnt get the order as quick, but it would be freight free and would be at cheaper discount rate. So, some dealers when you go and order stuff will wait and tack it on to their next stock order, they get better margin but probabaly still charge you a freight charge. Bet they never actually checked to see if it was in stock in Japan, just saw it listed and ASSUMED it would be. What are after anyway? Sometimes cheaper and quicker to get stuff out of Oz.
Go buy a cheap arse rat bike for some fun while you wait :msn-wink:
But that seriously sucks.. bikeless (AND A NEW ONE) for a friggen long time.. poor affman - condolences out to you!

Sure we can get parts ..... bloody EX - JAPAN  .
:
Here the parts take about three days ..if I go to my local dealer ..and the postage to NZ takes about 5 days .....
If the dealer has Honda online then you can order direct ( they look up what is at the warehouse ,,then order direct ,,)
If you know the frame number and ideally the part number I can see if its any quicker ....mind you the individual postage might be a killer ??
Dont know just a thought

Unfortunatley the parts are already ordered. I was quite willing to wait the 2 weeks. I would have my bike back today if all the parts were available. Out of the 6 or so parts ordered only 1 was on back order. Such a shame :weird: :weird:

Im in the same f*$king vote at the moment for a louzy indicator - My bike has "special" ones that have the 2 bulbs in one thingy. So when the bike is on the indicators are both on in the front (but not very bright and flicking) - Sorry don’t know how common this is on newer bikes. As far as I know it’s only the 94 CBR250RR that has this feature.
If its going to be to much longer im going to try and get a standard indicator and shove that on - that’s if the have one.... ugggg - I can't wait forever lol.
