COME ENJOY A BARBY AND FREE SUSPENSION SETUP ADVICE AND WITH SHAUN HARRIS
HERES THE DEAL
come down to MILLARS CAR CENTRE from 10.30 am.
SHAUN HARRIS will be in my gargre with his measuring tools ready to advise you on ways to improve your suspension from just simple adjustments through to -well thats up to you-- BUT the skys the limit.
Guys n gals this is a rare opportunity to meet a man you KNOW has more than a couple of clues about suspension.:Punk::Punk:
Jus listening to what he says will be an education in itself let alone the chance to get your bike transformed from an evil brute back into the bike you love.:love:
Shaun will measure up the sag settings on your bike, Shaun will then give you an educated opinion of what work you might need and what you may need or want doing, to improve your ride, and make it safer to ride.
The idea is for you to come to my car/bike yard and talk with Shaun face to face, so You can work out any work different or related to a great offer he has going and as a way for determining if you need or want any work to be done, and to confirm bookings for any work in the future .
Shaun will be based in the main workshop in the yard . Entry will be via the main back door of the workshop
MEANWHILE
Ill have a couple of bags of sausages to cook up on the barby and tea n coffee for those that want a hot drink. You guys n gals can sit around and generally have a chinwag:2thumbsup:2thumbsup
As an aside when you get your bike back there is an IDEAL test ride route of 15km that WILL tell you if the bike is transformed--AND its just down the road.
PLEASE NOTE
Car/Trailer parking is OVER THE ROAD in the carpark.
BIKE PARKING is round the back of the workshop
-Sorry I just dont have room for a bunch of cars/trailers/vans actually in the yard.
Heres a map thingee -Directly over the road from Enterprise rd is is our yard

to any one that is thinking of going to this day do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My bike handled not to well when I got it read heaps of suspnsion books had a few people look at it and not much difference.
5 mins talking to Shaun about what the bike was doing and another 5 with his trusty measuring tape. I then took the bike for a ride and the difference was night and day the bike now handles really well on the track and road.
Take the time to go this will be one of the best investments you can do for your riding.
Oh I figured out instead of buying upgrades to make the bike go faster losing 5 kg on the rider has the same effect and is a lot cheaper!

Actually I just got hold of the owners manual for my bike, so now I know WHERE to adjust it. Now I just need to figure out HOW to adjust it properly. In the book "Total control" it explains a lot about how to do it, and why (I can send you a copy if you want). Now all I need to do is get hold of a pin spanner to be able to adjust it.
I am sure I could have a play or two...

Suspension is a black magic. Have a chat to someone like Shaun before attempting adjustments yourself (or at least write down the settings befoire you start, and only have one change at a time).
I think you'll find that most suspension "errors" with newer riders is to do with the rider and not the bike. :)
I wouldn't dare mess with the suspension of my bike - I don't have anywhere near the knowledge to stand a chance of making something "better". And I am confident any issues I'm having could be fixed with someone giving be riding advice ...

Mate I'd like to suggest you have it all backwards. The basic question is. What is it that your suspension is doing NOW that you don't like?
From the answer to that question and as a result of the measurements he takes along the way Shaun draws on his TINY TEENY bit of setup experience (sorry Shaun couldn't resist) to make adjustments to the setup or perhaps suggests more serious changes to your suspenders
The 10 minutes "twiddling" is the end result of his years of experience.

Ill give it a shot. Mine is good at the moment but would be interested to hear more on the "how too" bit.

Don't take this wrong folks, but you are not going to learn what I know nor develop a feal that I have for suspension in an afternoon.
If you have a problem with the way your bike is handling, come see us, but please do not expect me stand around trying to teach you how to do MY JOB!!
These days at frosty,s ( MILLARS CARS) are done for free, as a way for me to promote my skills and customer base for the future, and MILLARS for goog will PR to the Biker world

That would be a difficult one for me, as my bike has only ever had one setting that I have been riding on all the time. I cant say if it is good or bad, since I have nothing to compare it to, and dont know what its capable of...
It certainly is very hard and doesn't seem to handle small bumps in the road very well.

Wasn't actually difficult was it. No disrespect but you will be very surprised how effectively Shaun can interpret noob's ramblings and ask the salient questions as a result.

To try and clarify what it is Shaun does with suspension;
The bike you have has either has its suspension set at the factory settings or has been twiddled with at some point in its life.
Shaun will do a quick evaluation of these settings based on 'feel'. This sensory skill will have taken years to develop.
He will then get out the trusty measuring tape and take some recordings (now we are into the 'black art' phase).
Adjustments will be made, measurements re taken with you on and off the bike, tweeked and then you are sent of on a test ride. On your return your ramblings on how it feels will be deciphered/interpreted and any tweeking made. Job done.
Sounds simple enough eh...........and it is.....................if you have the know how and experience to translate what the bike and its rider are telling you.
The advise and input Shaun will give you is invaluable (he is the only person I know who travels the country doing this for free!! RT being the other exeption).
Dont expect to be taught anything on the day other than how having the right person working on your bike pays dividens out on the road.
The best performance mod you can do to a bike is have the suspension set up or better still upgraded, talk to him regarding what Motodynamix can offer you.....you wont be disappointed.
