I've just (with some help) stripped the carbs off my baby gixxer to try and sort out it's idling problem, and have probably found the problem. When the carbs came off no 4 cylinder intake was dry, after some digging found the taper is broken off the pilot screw and is stuck in the hole.
Now I have 2 problems, I need to get the broken taper out and another pilot screw or a complete carby. It is a Mikuni BSW27 carb, a horrid looking (according to dad) twin throat thing.
Help please. :shit:

Thank you very much good sir, I hadn't thought as far as trademe yet. The black tank would match the rest of my bike as well.

Are you in wellington?
anyway, a lot of idle adjusters can be seen poking through the small hole in the throat of the carb near the throttle butterfly. if yours is this type, you may be able to get a strong small tool - like a dentists pick and gently push the remaining part of the needle valve out of the opening.
i have some of these tools and with some time and patience you may just be able to manage this.
the other option is compressed air. - worth a try ay :)
I hope this helps, if your near wellington, give me a yell and i'll see if i can be more help in person.
cheers
