Super cheap sell FUCHS Silkolene, the ester based stuff, really good stuff, plus you can get it on a sunday when bike shops are shut. they have other top oil brands too.

Depends how it is jetted. That 40:1 recommendation is probably for a full synthetic oil. It's a good starting point.

Just found a note from my first call to the seller, i think he said he was using 'Motul' (i've not heard of) - is that any good/ which is best out of these two or are they pretty much the same?

Motul is good, but expensive. I just use TTS.

motul is good for your bike, but terrible for your wallet.
ive been using castrol TTS since 1994 in my CR's (continuiously) and have never had a lubrication problem, 40:1 is good, and 95 is good for that generation of engine.
all this assumes your bike isnt jetted crazy.
but if it went ok on motul at 40:1, it should be fine on anything else.
TTS is typically about $85 for 4 litres, best time to buy is when supercheap has a "everything 20% off sale" or similar, theres no money in this stuff and im yet to find anyone who can / will do it cheaper- i had a contact at repco who told me THEY were buying it for $79~ .... so theres not much room for better deals.
other plus sides is its sold pretty much everywhere and someone always has some at an event should you forget yours

boyds. if you get the right guy (troy) he always gives a discount if you ask. Normally 100 for 4L. Bet a while since i bought any though - may have gone up, got 4L of yamalube from a guy who went to 4 strokes. Seems alright - hasnt blown my bike up yet anyway

I've also got a QR50, I think the seller said he put in a mobil 2 stroke - the fuchs stuff is pretty dear, should i use that or different on the QR?

on a qr you could just use any 2 stroke oil. Basic scooter stuff will do

I too run Castrol TTS at 40:1 in my KTM. I use BP ultimate or Shell V-power, I personally think the bike runs better on BP ultimate. I have tried other oils such as Motul 800 and Motorex but I reckon that TTS is best, it makes the bike really crisp and it feels like it's running lean, even though it's not; it just makes it really responsive. TTS is also a cheaper option. From memory I paid $75.00 for four litres; $35.00 cheaper than 4 litres of Motul 800.
TTS is good, especially given the price is right. Providing your jetting is pretty standard, the bike should run fine. As already stated, Super Cheap Auto is the place to go for it, really well priced.
