I spent some of the afternoon hammering 100mm nails into a 100mmx100mm block of wood with my 5 year old son.

I had forgotten how much satisfaction can be had from smashing the crap out of nail when your doing it for no other reason than the hell of it - when it is not a chore or job you have to get completed.

Now my 7 year old daughter is begging to have a nail smashing session.


Anyone else found some soul satisfying therapy?

You child abuser! This is heinous. Normal people use hammers for such a task, not small children.

Mate of mine was scruffing his GF... in the front seat of a Mk1 Zepher...
She got her head stuck in the glovebox..
Had a hell of a job getting her out.......

perhaps your mate didn't want to get her out of the glove-box, might be harder to hear the nagging etc.

Years ago I was playing hammer things with my daughter (we also had a slot car set!!!!) she had the hammer, I held the nail, I said to her '' when I nod my head you hit it''...woke up two days later thinking I was Joan of Ark!

Dropped a pine tree on my section. Drag the boy off the XBox and we cut firewood together. Just an excuse to get the chainsaw out and rark up the neighbours.

Then he gets to build the fire in the burner and light it.

Something really satisfying about turning a tree into firewood.
