Again excellent weather, great organised by nigel armstrong,

This meeting i did the motott trackday on the saturday to get the new hyosung up to pace for sundays racing, went in group 2 which was very quick for my 250 on the track 1 format, but i didnt want to get caught up with track day heroes, and straight line heroes. Worked on corner speed, got faster and faster as the day progressed. Was so tired at the end i got the fuzzies and wasnt up for my last season, Thanks motott great value for money!

SUNDAY

Woke up [sleep in :shifty:] looked out my tent, very foogy cold weather but knew it wouldnt burn off. The air smelt of a race day ready to begin

QUALIFYING

Warmed up the tires for a good few laps, then got stuck into it, Over took a few people threw the twisties so i was feeling confident, Qualified 6th overal out of 18 bikes, and 2nd in 250 pro lite. So was very happy with that for my first time at taupo on the hyosung.

RACE 1

Got a shocking start, about 10th into turn one, Catched upto another gt250r, battled very close with him, but just didnt have the aggression to get past him as he was going to very good pace, Best time of a 1.29 which was abit dissapointing. Just made me even more keen to go better in the next race.

RACE 2

Got an excellent start, kept with jason cameron and the top bunch for the first few laps, Was pushing alot harder this time, and my overal mind-set was alot better, Had sam croft get past me on the straight and kept with him. Had ryan firn poke up afew times at then end which was scary as i was determined to stay infront, In the end the hyosungs torque got me out onto the start finish straight so i could take 2nd in prolites with a best time of 1.27.250 alot better than last time!!!, Only 1 second off lap record too.

the Hyosung has already beaten by best time on streetstock around taupo by half a second already after 1 race, so its going to be the bike for me this season. Got a few more outings until my serious approach to the winter series [which im gona try to win} Got a few things to try out and tests to do. So cant wait!.

quite right mate..............you dont even need to win a race(although its a bonus) to win a championship...........just need to be in the top 3 and consistant............ hours spent between races getting everthing just right will pay dividends at the track. Good Luck

Great to catch up again Woody, great to see that the 250 class is growing and some good racing going on, you looked pretty smooth out there.
