Yep, this needs a reboot folks. When I get experienced riders telling me that this is the best course they have ever riden in Woodhill then I know we have a bloody awesome track. This is the forestry bit I'm talking about let alone the farm section.
When I throw down the prunning saw and arrow bag for an hour just to ride one section then I know that you guys and girls will just love this ride.
The view from one point is just awesome!!
If I can quantify this by saying that you will only ride a minimum of road on a 55km course then how does this compare with others!!

Bring your gear if you want a ride on the 200EXC, I also note they have kawasaki demo bikes, you should make it your mission to try them all.

This ride is going to be so cool, it's supposed to pee down on Thursday and have rain through the week, which will just make it better and better! It's got everything, long straits, tight, blues and reds like Woodhill! Can't wait! Farm loop is fantastic all on its own! Roll on Sunday!!!

Ha ha. Trying very hard to remove all road but this means that it would become an endurance ride as opposed to trail ride aimed for all levels (and homo chariots).

Seconded.! I couldn't even park at the bottom - had to unhitch the trailer, get the car as close as I could to somewhere out of people's way and drag the (unloaded) trailer next to the car (couldn't re-hitch as that would have blocked things up), then go back for the bikes. Still, kiddie now knows what NOT to do...

Good point - can we have a rough description of the carpark area? I've been to a few rides where my Accord barely scrapes through the gate...

I need a lift.....the Isuzu has decided it needs a mechanical lie down so if anyone is coming past Hillsborough & feels like giving me (plus bike & gear) a lift up & back it would be appreciated.
Failing that, I will just sit around & complain all day.

Climintie has a great pic from a lookout similar, that gives a view over the whole of Muriwai and South head.
You will be fine. I took a complete novice on a training ride (no not Chop!!) while we marked some of the track Sunday. He made it OK and the last trail bike he road was a AJS back when Adam played half back for the Isrealites.

Those roots at 1:16! They caught a lot of people out. I remember hanging out there for a while while Krad pulled a bunch of people's bikes over them. Too bad I'm bikeless and my head still feels foggy after last weekend's flight attempt, hate to not be able to give this one a proper go!

Was lucky enough to ride the 55k loop today! Wow! It definitely is a bit of everything, including a big uphill before you see this amazing view! Awesome riding, did take me a while to get around the loop, probably a couple of hours!!!! The rain sure helped the woops and there's heaps of fast riding, for those that go fast, there was also a lot of tight bits around the trees! Tomorrow it will be mint, there's been a bit more rain and it peed down while we were out there! Farm loop is awesome and it's been graded, so the uphills are cool!!!

Well im out rochelle needs to get some study done and if i leave her here with all the kids thats not going to happen. The study is more important than a ride at this point.

My son and I got lost following a bloke on a RMZ, not for long tho' more of a detour. Legs and shoulders already tightening up, not used to all the sand and woops. Thanks to the organisers, good course, heaps of marshalls/sweepers and great work with the weather. Cheers guys for a top day.

Main large loop twice and the small farm loop once. The back and my thighs were feeling it, towards the end with all the woops.
And i didn't get lost. I can read arrows.
Cracking day for a ride and a great load of tracks to ride on. Thanks to all those who did the things that let us go out & mnuck about on bikes. Managed 3 laps of the farm and one detour on the small loop before #1 son was too tired to do any more (a good thing, too, I was going to hurt myself if I went out again by that point). Still, only damage is sore muscles which aren't used to being used - unlike one poor bloke who broke his shoulder and had been patched up by the ambos. He was driving himself & his kids home. Not sure that's such a great idea, but what do you do?
My only winge: While it may be accepted practice to wait for fallen adults to pick themselves up if there's not space to go round them, how about giving a hand when there's a kid & parent spread out on the trail? The parent will deal with the kid first and screw anyone waiting. Clearing bikes out of the way will happen once the child is calmed down and injuries assessed. Don't go riding over the parent, or they might track you down in the paddock. Or get you a bad rep with the organisers, or even tell their mum. If you're in a bloody hurry, get off your bike & help. I'm prepared to bet that the people trying to run me over (after pushing past those waiting) have no kids of their own, but when they do will expect others to pick them up when they fall over (as they as parents will have already pissed off into the distance for their own ride, leaving little Johnny/Jenny to get on as best they can).
Rant off.
New parking arrangements much better (didn't get stuck & need a tow out) this year. Though it was getting pretty full!
Great ride... I can say that now that I finished it! The big 55km loop seemed to go forever! That was one hell of a workout and happy to say I beat it just the once, had a lie down in the carpark and went for a couple of quick rides on the short loop but after being sick for 3 weeks fitness has gone out the window. Just to punish myself a little more I got back in time my waterpolo game. Not sure if I'll be able to move tomorrow morning!
Thanks to the organisers and marshalls etc.

Thanks all. Barty...Getting lost means getting lost. Cheeses getting lost means he went off the track by 20 meters (I was watching) Cheese, stop looking at your front tyre and you will see the arrows. Jeez boy you need some trail ride coaching. Let Rupe lead the way!!.
Yes BM-GS I had a few words to the impatient few as well in regard to rider ediquet. Damn anoying. Any way it was a good solid work out and looks like we had another record turn out.
Only one collar bone, and an AC sprain at this stage, so thats good new on the injury front.

A big voluptuous thanks to KTMboy and your crew for all the effort that went into this. Was amazed how dry it was out there in some places considering amount of rain we had in town. Geat view from the top alright and a perfect fine day to enjoy it. Some more pics would be good?
I found that first hill bit (the big bank with several options) was a bit harder than it looked. So bloody unfit, I thought I might join the KB heart attack club manhandling bike around after 3rd try.
A mate was following Natasha Cairns for a while and saw her hit a large stump and go flying in a big way. She reckoned she was OK but apparently an impressive get-off. Tough chick.
On the other hand I had a wee splat that knocked half the wind out of me and think I've cracked a rib - sniffle, sob. Didn't ride well to day so serves me right though.

I had a nice day hanging out at the carpark, reading mags, painting my nails blue, watching all the bikes - lots of great wheelies up that hill on the exit! Went for a little blat on the new bike at the end of the day near the carpark but no proper riding for me :) Sounds like it was a long one! Meatbomb's bike came back sans rear fender, had a bit of a sit-down apparently. Was nice to see people & can't wait to get the new steed lowered & ready to ride :)

Was an awesome ride. Managed 3 big laps but had an awesome crash on the 3rd.
Over a hill climb with a bit much speed. Big tree root and over the hill I went but managed to connect with a tree on the way down. Hip first into a good tumble cartwheel thing. Had to have a 5 minute time out to recover.
Otherwise all fun and awesome terrain.

My sentiments exactly! Over sand and whoops for a bit, and some of the "knarly hillclimbs" had me questioning my sanity. But a great day.
I'm struggling to move this morning. Those woops on the home track seemed to go forever, lost count and of how many home signs I saw!

I sort of liked the whoops as its good training. It reminds me of what Woodhill bike park used to be like all the time.
I graded that track during the week to be smooth as but always thought it would get a hammering toward the end of the day.
Being graded now as we speak so that its all good for other events as needed.
