Well I was a bit lacklustre having planned a Trial ride for sunday, but my replacement carb has just shown up which should fix the drama I was having, so if I get my leathers back & weather is ok I'll be there. A Hoo hoo hoo

Hey guys. Hope you all had a good days racing, mine wasn't too bad until the crash. Sorry if I upset anyone by going back on for a race before being told to end my day early. I figured the nurse (and myself sorta) would have known if I was good enough to go back out but really it's not just me and the nurse who has to be ok with me riding. The event marshal and the other riders on the track have to be ok with it too, so I am sorry if I upset anyone by heading back out after the crash. I felt ok enough to ride but not to race. Another knock to the head would have been a very bad thing thinking back to it. Hope everyone else had a good day, I saw some really cool racing from both A and B grade today. Gotta love Kaitoke days

Trudes
18th April 2010, 19:55
Hey Hamish, hope you are feeling ok. You really do have to be careful when you hit your head eh, feel fine one moment and lying on the ground the next. Good on you for taking it so well and knowing to call it a day. So is it time for a new helmet? Maybe Mark will hook you up with something. :)

Heck, how good was today's racing weather and general goodness!!!

Had a blast and can't wait for the next meet. Well done everyone!!

Awesome day everyone, loved every bit of it.
The A grade racing was out of this world. It's really amazing getting to flag marshal at different points on the track and see the speed you guys get to. Stunning.
Great B grade races as well, it's going to be a cool season.

Will post videos over the next few days.

Trudes
18th April 2010, 20:45
Mint weather,
mint track,
my bike is the coolest
and I didn't get lapped
(by the entire B grade field, but that doesn't fit into my little rhyme) ;)

Well done to my hubby, won all the B grade races :woohoo: (even if you did pass Dave under a yellow.... but you would've got round him eventually) ;)

Early reminder.
The next points round is on the 2nd May (yes that's just 2 weeks away)

It's at the Slipway. So get your creative track building mind going, cause it's time to move some tyres.

F5 Dave
19th April 2010, 09:48
Ahh Slipway. Its been long enough that I was missing the place. Now I just have to make sure I don't go out drinking the night before. Bad Koba, Bad Str8.

:nono: Now, now Mr T..... whose idea was it to go out in the first place. Hmm, hmmmmmm? ;)

At least we did it well and drank the bar out of Emmersons Pilsner....

F5 Dave
19th April 2010, 17:30
Yeah I probably could have done without the last one, or the shots that evil barman brought around. When I was younger I'd shrug that all off. Talking of which how did Mal's climb up the hill go the next day??

hehe, for once I was probably the most sober of everyone!! I had a feeling after we drank the bar out of the beer we were drinking. Though we have to hand it to Malcolm for not having a spew after those shots!

It didn't......

hehe, I was fine the next day. Especially after I cooked up a big feed of sausages, eggs and chips!....

Nah, not yet. We are heading up to Hastings that same weekend. Remember, we talked about that on Sat night!

Oh, if you say so. I probably told you about my world domination plans starting with annexing Poland. It's worked once before & they won't be expecting it a 2nd time, but best not tell anyone about it just in case. Ahh rats. Oh well best go back to refitting that new carb on the fiddy.

Hehe, good times...

I'm sure that bastard knows the exact moment to bring the shots out... He must enjoy it.

The plan with the carb is to replace the whole thing with a smaller one anyway.

I have a more conventional style Walbro pumper that the hole in the back is 30mm and with some real rough calcs the oval choke cross section is close to 28mm equivalent.
The carb on there now has a 38mm hole in the back of it! Havn't worked out the area of the oal bit yet but it is HUGE. the inlet tract currently goes from 38mm to 26mm over about 15mm...

Hey guys, I hope the Wellington bucketers who were at Kaitoke on the 18th read this.....

I watched some footage a couple hours ago taken by Kyle straight after my crash. I don't remember Kyle even being there that day and I don't remember a lot of what I was saying or doing after my crash. Would just like to apologize because I sounded like a bit of an asshole on the footage and I absolutely promise I have no recollection of this. I saw a doctor and was told I had a concussion which can result in a few things such as memory loss. Apparently once your brains gets a chance to swell a bit (soon after knocking it) you can have short term memory loss in mild cases. I have never had this before and it is quite freaky to watch myself in the footage repeating myself over and over.

Once again I am sorry if I came off as a bit of a prick at best. Andrew A you were NOT going slow at all, I had no bloody idea what I was saying. You're a fast man and I clearly couldn't keep up. I don't know what the hell I was on about.

Cheers.

To be perfectly honest I am more worried about the system letting you down.
There is no way you should have gone back out on the track that day.

F5 Dave
27th April 2010, 14:25
Don't worry as long as you return that $40 you borrowed all will be forgiven. That stain has to come out of the Vicar's shawl.

To be honest we tried pretty hard to stop him. In the end the clerk of the course stepped in but not soon enough

Yup you're right. I have been told a few people told me not to go out, I only remember walking to the nurse with you Fish after you came to chat to me. And she didn't stop me. Wish she had.
