ok a few of you have said your going to Dome Valley Bike park. Went to RMCC site but no info there that I could find?
I've never been there but could you guys give me a heads up??
Where is it exactly?? I goggled it and Dome Valley is on on State Hwy 1 but the track can't be right next to the Hwy so how to get there? What roads it on for the Navman??
How much does it cost??
Opening times? when is it open for casual riders?
Whats it like?? I'm picturing a Kimmis farm type set up?? Is it like Kimmi's or better?? Is it worth the 1 hour, 15 mins for me instead of the 50mins to The sandpit??
Thanks all!!

It open on sundays only from 8-3pm
The gates are on state highway 1 on the left hand side, just keep an eye out for the sign. Then its a short gravel road ride to the track. Its one of the easiest tracks to find.
Mx track is fun and the enduro challenging in parts, for $20 its very well priced.

So is this a trail ride in the traditional sense or is it just that Dome Valley is open for business as per usual?

We went today, was fun! I was a bit low on gas, we packed less 2t oil than we thought so there wasn't enough to mix my fuel, so I got by on what was sitting in the tank left over from tussock. 'Cause I was worried about running out of gas I only did the enduro loop twice, and then around the motocross track about a million times which I really liked :) Was a pretty short track which was great for me, I finally started to get the hang of jumps today (not just going 'wow think I'm jumping'! and letting off the throttle and nosediving on everything) so that was cooool. The enduro track was around 11ks and quite fast, but also kind of hard and rutty. I had one off where I got cross rutted, didn't feel very confident on those bits. I'm so used to soft squidgy ruts and not hard ones. Had a cool long uphill tho. $25 for non-members. Was a fun day and cool to try a different place out.
I tried Rupe's 250 too, but that's a post for the other thread...:)

Man went to kimmy's, BIG mistake!! That place is so overly priced its not funny, yeah you could say that they have the wash bays, but i have a waterblaster at home so not really a bonus for me.
Track looked like it hadnt been groomed in 3 months, the jumps were cool and all but was just too rough for my liking.
Enduro was fun and spent most of my time there, but i prefer to ride mx tracks.
Will stick to dome and Ardmore me thinks

How much is Kimmys now?

i dont know why everyone complains about kimmys, if you want somewere to ride then you have to pay the fee, and as for the "roughness" and the "bumps" i think it would be boring if it was as smooth as SH1.

That is true Steve, but a bit of maintenance goes a long way. She is a bit of a rutted out hole at the moment.

he actually does quite alot of maintenance, but you can only really do it once its rained otherwise all your hard work gets blown away with the wind, but then again some people like it rough:devil2:

I agree I went there oh back in 07 and it was the same! Didn't look like the MX track had been even 1/2 groomed, dry hard deep ruts, landing zones really rough and cut up. It was $30 back then I think, and I've never been back! For what it appears he is trying to achieve there if the place was kept like Ardmore you'd be happy to pay the extra money. He seems to me like an agressive type of bloke just trying to make as much $ out of the place as he can. I could be quite wrong but thats the impression I've gained over the time I've been riding?
Thanks for the update Teava I was thinking of giving it another try now that my son is paying for himself but I think I'll keep going elsewhere!
