Mate that owns a K9 GSXR 750 asked me about getting rid of the Catalytic converter out of his 750 as it was to bulky & quite for him , so today was the time to finally get it sorted . Mate had cut the converter out just in front of the butterfly valve & I had told him to get some 304 S/steel bends for the job which he had trimmed to get the correct fit & with a bit more grinding & slight tweeks I finished the last few joins using the ends off the original system so it was a perfect fit & then started to Pulse Tig weld all the parts together with Agron purge which is needed to get a good fusion inside & out . A couple of Hrs later I had it finished & on the bike , next was to have a listern to it & we both agreed it was bloody excellent sounding over the stock system as well as been a heap lighter . Just had a call from mate & he has just had the bike out for a bit of a shakedown run & says it is flying with a noticeable power increase & sounds Fantasic on & off pipe . Well other happy customer , Ducati S4R pipe modifiying afew weeks back & now Suzuki GSXR rocket ship > My test ride hopefully tomorrow to see how much better the latest 750 is compared to the older models I tryed watch this space .

You might even get a bit of money at a scrap yard if you sell the cat.

Damn right! Titanium is worth something.

Nasty, evil things those cat converters. They cause cancer in baby whale seal dolphins, the all blacks to lose and politicians to lie.
Be gone with them!!!

Converter is made of Carbon not Titanium so worth about as much as it does for performance . Hooked up yesterday to ride along with mate on his K9 GSXR750 that I have just finished & it sounds bloody Kool . It goes mighty hard beating my RSVR in top end over 2undy , but struggled to keep up with exit speed of my RSVR though the high speed corners because he was spining up the rear to much exiting the appex , but still able to run me down once the road straightend out enough for the extra HP & revs to be used to his advantage . Great to see how far the new models have come since the earlyer ones , one can only hope they make a 800cc version GSXR in the near future

Not the ti, it is the platinum from the inside that can be extracted that is worth $'s

What part of two motorcyclists racing each other on a public road at 200+ kph, lighting up the rear wheel exiting high speed corners, doesn't sound stupid to you?

(Edit: Just noticed the date of the OP. Maybe they've turned over a new leaf in the last 12 months).
