was it a Paiggio Zip? review here (http://www.thescooterreview.com/component/content/article/263-piaggio-zip-50?showall=1)
A mate has one, but ended up dropping bigger engine in it
--Edit--
LOL read too quickly and thought you wrote 50cc.

Piaggio do a 500cc X9, also do 250cc X7 (X9 on TM at the mo). Gilera do an awesome looking 500cc one as well

The Gilera 500cc thing is very, VERY vibey.
Why not try a Japanese one? The 400cc Burgmans are better in every respect.
Unless you're a homosexual. In which case a 500cc Vespa is perfect ;)
edit.. or a girl.. obviously..

Hey Ratti, theres a great scooter shop in Wanganui next time you are up there. I've been thinking of doing a day trip up there cos none of the Welly shops have what I'm looking at except for the Honda.

There are a few 500cc "Piaggio" machines, badged as all kinds of things... MP3 500 aka Gilera Fuoco. X9, Carnaby (iirc) probably the later is what you are looking at? or the X9... X9 is a straight up good peice of kit, havn't ridden the Carnaby but looks like a big pimpn tank... should be... um... comfy? if a bit of a whale.

its an x9..ll bought and paid for.
Had a chat with Pete at WMC and it was a Gilera he had there, but it had sold.
500cc scoot, its hilarious to ride. super grin factor and a nice change from a bike. Rides a lot more like a bike than I thought it would. and it is way cool to pass a car on the Hayward hills on a scoot...

I knew where it was, but wanted to check in with you to see if you might have anything that was worth a look.

Now THAT is an idea with merit. How is your search for a scoot going Stig?
All he needs now is a name. The bike i mean.. definatly male, definatly gay, and a drag queen to boot! I need something italian and appropriately draggish sounding. Tentativly its Stefano, but Im not sure about it.

hard and long? if you know what I mean? ahem....
nah I think it'll be Ducky...and I will probably have to cover the seat and the inside black plastic with yellow fake fur. Saw a bike at Motorad today that had been covered with zebra striped fake fur, It was gorgeous! I so want to cover the sensible bits of the scoot with yellow! A vision of loveliness, to quote our Lynn of Tawa.
