With all the threads about NZ bike stores in regards to service etc recently, and most of the posts being of the complaint variety I am happy to bring a good, albeit small, experience.

Perusing TM one even I found a fairing bolt replacement kit for my GSXR. Seeing as a few of my bolts were looking a bit shabby I purchased a kit, and it arrived 3 days later. However after counting all my fairing bolts I noticed the kit was a bit short. No problem I thought, I'll just see what I can do by juggling them around (the ones I ordered were black, factory ones are stainless). All was going well until I had two of the bolts shear the heads off.

Now I wasn't too happy, two bolts snapped off in my fairings and now definitely short of bolts. So I removed the fairings further than I anticipated with this job just to remove the trapped threads so I could at least put the bike back together.

After doing all this I decided to drop them an email and see what their response was. My g/f laughed and told me not to expect a response in a hurry. Well 30mins later (about 9:45pm) I had my response, they were very apologetic, were concerned about other kits they have in stock, but more importantly were concerned that I could remove the snapped off bolts. They immediately offered my money back or replacement parts. I went with the replacement option, and listed the bolts I needed. Checked my email this morning and they are sending them off today, with a few extras thrown in.

So big thank you to Simon at www.powersport.co.nz. Check them out, their website is simple but easy to navigate, and they seem to have a decent range of bits and pieces, from ear plugs through to rims.

The new ones snapped off? They're alloy? Just fairing screws? Any idea what brand they are?

Yeah two of the 5mm ones snapped. Brand is Moto Momentum, and yes they are aluminum alloy. Torque guide is, 5mm 2.5nm, 6mm 5nm, 8mm 10nm. They stress not to over tighten, I was using the allen key provided and the bolts were still moving at the time. They claim they have had no issues before, so I'm willing to give them another go.

I found this the only review about Powersport.co.nz, and it was useful - so thought I would add my two cents.

Jan 2012 I ordered a fender eliminator from these guys - I'm always nervous making online funds transfers where there is no option for using credit card - so was a little worried when there was quite a wait to hear anything - I sent a followup email and got a reply within a few days, then the package arrived straight away the next day, complete with a free can of chain lube as an apology for the delay.

Great service, would definately order from here again.

Sounds like the service is great, good on them.Had a look at there site and am wondering why the Carrozzerias are priced at $4,500 then slashed to $4000.You could buy a set online for way cheaper than that inclusive of post, even to an RD addy:shit:At that price not including post to an RD addy is :sleep:How much money do these guys have to make.
