A rare unrestored 1894 Hildebrand & Wolfmüller “motorrad” is up for auction Sunday at the International Classic Motorcycle Show. The German word “motorrad” translates roughly to “motorcycle” in English. Hildebrand & Wolfmüller, headquartered in Munich, invented the word in 1894 to describe the first two-wheel vehicle to go into series production.

The similarity with modern motorcycles is striking: "finding parts will be a problem".
