Hey Chris,
Is there any chance you'll be in the south island (nelson) at some stage? I'd definately be keen to sign up for some coaching with a noob/dirt focus.

$150 for a days training, sounds like good value to me, I just need to check with the social events organiser now.

It's about time I worked on my skills a bit so I would be up for that...
But since my off-road skill level is approximately zero, I'm not sure I'd fit in a group with you guys. I'm not too keen to break any plastics just now either, so maybe I'd need to 'Struan' my Freewind by taking off the panels most likely to break... Oh and swap out the Tourance on the back for something that might work... Hopefully the E-07 would be OK on the front, though.

Allright you SI lot ..... Whose keen for some self improvment?
We need around ten riders to make it happen ($200ea/day), if we do it up here in Nelson i've got a big shed to cover the bike setup side of things in rain or shine and can accomodate 4-5 people in the "new" house (more space than beds, so indoor camping would be the go if more needed to stay). I'm also only a few km from old coach rd and some great dirt trails which would work well for skills training purposes and clolse enough to home for a bbq lunch.
I've just sold the 640e so might have to "borrow" the old R100RSPD for the duration as the DRZ might be cheating.
Chris is looking into a date, so lets make something happen.

If DR250 is ready I'd be very keen...chances of that happening slim, will report back when ready to go, congrats on the sale of the 640! Let the DRZ fiddling begin!

I've been talking to Chris about the Nelson based training day, At this stage his first available weekend is in July.
Once we can pin down a firm date i'll start a new thread specifically for the day and keep track of numbers, so Watch this space really.
In the mean time the next nelson laidback's on the 30th of May.

Shite after doing the 42nd last week i realised my offroad skills have diminished since my teens, when time and money meet at the right time i'l be a definate for a rider training day

Sounds good but July not good for me as I will be in Thailand (where klrs are made), but with the gummint warning people not to travel there I may yet be a starter.

This should be on my list too, since on my first adventure ride last weekend, I am sure an old lady on one of those mobility scooter things overtook me on the outside of a corner out raglan way... glad I was so far behind everyone else that no one saw it!!:ride:
