I am fully keen for a ride, as im sick of riding alone for a while now...

anyone who wants in post or pm or something, we'll take it slow, so anyone can come along, learner friendly too.

for people who cant join the faster rides.

when and where, no idea. if you have any ideas please do share.

But it'll be east Auckland start, botany or something.
so....?

EDIT: First Ride organised on page 2, for saturday the 8th

I'm keen mate, I am out Howick way. There are a few of the lads who have a ride south on a Thursday. Caseye is on of them and he is a good bloke, he will be at the protest next week.

We'll be meeting up at the BP Ti Rakau next Saurday anyways, can have a chin wag then. I'm off the road at the moment with a bung foot but will be back in the saddle by next weekend

Nice one mate

Hey Cayman911, I'm always keen for a ride! Sadly weekday evenings are usually the only time I'm free, but if you're keen I'm in! Me and Blackened160 ride regularly together with another of our friends, and we also set up a gymkhana-style course in the work car park regularly too for a bit of a laugh, you're more than welcome to join us for that too!

Work carpark is in Penrose, but when we go for rides we wil ride anywhere - as long as the roads are twisty! West is always a favourite, but so is around Maretai way. If you know of any good roads where you are we'll happily be shown around!

From Howick / Botany head out towards Whitford, the coast road to Maraetai then inland to Clevedon stopping and telling lies wherever it feels right. (Coffee at Maraetai is good)
If thats enough turn right at Clevedon onto Twilight road which will drop you back to Whitford & then home.
If you want more, turn left at Clevedon and head out to Kawakawa bay, thats a "there and back" ride unless you want to go completely nuts and ride around to Miranda and back up the southern motorway.
Go to the AA and get a map, you would be surprised how much information is availabe on a piece of paper that costs $3.50.

It's great riding out there, watch out for the traffic and enjoy yourselves. :Punk:

I live pretty much at the entrance into country roads that lead to clevedon/maraetai. but last time i went there with a biker i felt i was slowing everyone down lol.
since ever single uphill i had to slow down until there was no lower gear to shift down to :(.

On a NXR 125 , as awesome it is, it dosnt enjoy very top end motorway speeds of 100/+. so i try not to kill it

I can't help with that apart from the old "ride your own ride" bit, NZ is not flat so get used to it.
If you want to organise a ride there is only one way that works (IMHO); pick a date and a route and post it up, you will find that after a lot of posting and bullshitting a small group of like minded people will turn up and you will have a great time.

Pick a date and name a place, describe the sort of ride and get on with it, this weekend is looking perfect for riding.......if you want something central, head out through Panmure, Glen Innes, Riddel road to the waterfront and end up in the domain, retrace your route back.

You just described my usual ride there, i guess i was trying to find likeminded people first then setup a ride, but i guess you're right. Thanks for the tips. ill set the route and dates and anyone who wants to come can come

the maraitai/clevedon/kiaua ride is great, did it today, but it is a quite long drag back on the m/way

Houseman you're busy this weekend so maraetai can happen another time when you can come.

Saturday the 8th 10:15AM Botany Pak'n'Save gas station meet., gonna have a small ride in city, from Botany to the city centre and so on. and not through the motorway, which makes it more fun. Can go along mission bay to the city, and then decide either go forward (to like devonport or something if we can be bothered) or head back ( can be decided on the day).

Anyone who wants to join me feel free to count themselves in :) and let me know so i know to wait
