I've nearly got there a couple of times. Hand grip slid off once and the seat broke off the other time. Warmed up ultra soft Yokohama slicks are the biz, when the seat came off they were both sliding. I've never cornered so hard, albeit accidently.
There was a 250GP rider years ago who was dragging his elbows now and then.
Elbow down? Skill? Ghayyyyy. I can get my nose down.

That Laverda shot was what made me want a 750 Formula. It was a Fast Bikes cover in the 90's wasn't it?
Spectacular.
When they had the mini bikes at the indoor carts at Palmerston North, I could get my elbow down through the sweeper. 50% of the time it ended in a biff but I guess it doesn't hold the same clout when you're riding a QR50.
It looks a bit like they're hanging off more than they need to, the bikes in many of those shots don't look like they're leaning over as much as they could.
I thought the point of knee-down was that it helped racers judge how far over the bike was leaning?

You might want to say the first one (possibly biaggi) is crashing, guess you could call that cheating

Is it really efficient to be using as much lean angle as the guy on that blue...TL is it?
I heard that once past a certain point, the loss of stability stops you getting the power on and making the bike corner right...true? I don't see MotoGP or WSB guys using as much lean as that.

You're absolutely right. You've got to have completely neautral throtle/braking.
It's fucken cool to do and look at is all it is.
And it's an SV650.

yeah... and the point of elbow down is to tell the rider to 'stop tipping the bike over anymore!'

The idea is to go around the corner with the LEAST amount of lean possible anyway.

I thought the idea was to go around the corner as fast as possible..... :msn-wink:
