What do people out there know about neck protectors?

I'm looking at doing my first season in street stocks in the winter series. So I'm looking at getting one for this season (wife's request as I've already broken my neck 9 years ago) and there seems to be two types available. Soft foam ones that velcro together and full frame 'plastic' (prob not plastic but not sure what it is) ones that sit over the shoulders and have a frame around the base of the helmet.

My question is what experience do people have with each type, and is there any thing else I should know about them.

And does anyone have one (if it's the right type for me) that they want to sell?

Cheers in advance

They dont really work for road racing cause of the angle of your head when your tucked down...

daniel.m used to wear one, dosnt wear one anymore......dont think they'd help, motogp riders and stuff dont wear them....and they crash everyway possible, more of an MX thing.

I tried a Leatt brace but it didnt work, its a bit diff in mx cause you have the peak and jaw ofthe helmet that wrenches your neck.

Most good leather suits now have the big hump in the back this is to stop the head going to far back
