Just had a trawl through the results so far this year to find a number that hasn't been used and thought this might be useful for anyone turning up for the first time.
Updated Auckland again following May round.
Added column to easily filter North Island for those moving beteween tracks.

6 Team E.S.E F5-Rg50 (dont get confused with Speedpro who is F4)
9 Team E.S.E F4-RsGp125
14 Team E.S.E F4-vacumecleaner FzrGp125
34 Team E.S.E F5-Rg50
54 Team E.S.E F4-RsGp125
72 Team E.S.E F4-Gp100 (this is the one that bites)
?? Team E.S.E F4-FzrGt125 -the twin :)
?? Team E.S.E F4- new #14? FzrGp125
?? Team E.S.E F4-gp125 spare red bike
?? Team E.S.E F4- old #9 (mainly spared for #14 now but still all there last time I looked)
?? Team E.S.E F5- #9 Rg50 (when will he finish)
?? Team E.S.E F4- supercharged turboed ?? cb100 ?? (one of the to do bikes along with the aprila50)
there are some strange names behind those bikes because they get lent out a fair bit

I just grabbed the numbers from this seasons results.
JC had a spiel about numbers at the begining of the season and I think the gist was first in best dressed.
I know Damien has changed as there were a couple of 15s floating around for a bit and this is the sort of confusion John was hoping to avoid.
The current holder of the 15 plate was quite happy that it wasn't him getting kicked up to the A grade when he worked out what was going on.

good on you I put our numbers up as we dont realy want to loose them and would like to keep them for the TRRS as well
and yes as JC pounted out if you turn up with the same numbers as somone that has run already this year please change them
we often run the same number with 2 riders
one in A grade and one in B grade. As long as wendy knows it's all good (that way we can have 2 riders and one bike. Very good if the wife wants to race as well)

Except for the fact that she hates my bike. Hence the need for another number

As my number has been taken, I've decided to go for 44.
Not as though I'll be racing any time soon (yeah, you can leave the soon off the end of that).
Oh another thing, we've got a black ice cream lid if anyone wants it. Will try to remember it next meeting.

Excellent Henk. I originally tried "15" as that is my motocross bike number. When I later found out that it was already taken, I used my photos and the WLG numbers list to choose the number "83". Thanks for creating the list to make it easier for everyone.

Hi Henk
Number 82 is me
I brought the FXR150 from my brother and he got a new number for his new bike.
Thats why it should read
#82 FXR150 Grant Farquhar
#86 NSR-GL145 Graham Farquhar

Number 13 is up for grabs in Auckland, too, as Henk changed it to 113 because KenDog got his entry in first for TRRS last year :)

Yea sure that was the reason. Reality is you just wanted to be more like me so chose a number as close as you could:laugh:

A national spreadsheet like you've done Henk would be a good idea so when we all turn up somewhere together we don't have to piss about changing a whole heap of numbers.
We have an ongoing record of Welly numbers in a thread somewhere...... and I trawled through all the results from Auck, Chch and HB before picking my number and couldn't see anyone else using 16 before I stuck that on my bike, so yeah :bleh:

Does it need to be like speedway and have a letter next to the number? I did a number search a while ago between the north island centres like Trudes did and there was a huge amount of double and some cases triple-ups. Id say the only people that really need to worry about it are the ones that are travelling, but it is great to have a database to try an avoid double-ups where possible.

There's a thread with the Wellington numbers - with comments on the last page that the first post can't be edited and suggestions how to go about fixing that.
I didn't notice the date, but guess it's more recent than November last year - so, my question is, does anyone have an up-to-date list of the Wellington numbers?
Also, is there a list of the Hawkes' Bay riders' numbers somewhere?
It really is only a problem for out-of-towners and newbies, but hopefully, with the N.I. series (two rounds to go), the amount of people travelling to the different tracks will increase. The tracks are all so different, the atmosphere is always good (and so far the weather god has been kind) and for those of us in Auckland, it's a great excuse to get the hell out of Auckland.

Cheap and easy to fix. Carry a roll of the appropriately colored duct tape and make yourself another number if there is some sort of clash.

It's surprising how many people are 'precious' about their race number and get quite snotty when asked to change it.... even for one race.

I'm willing to have a crack at a national setup but will have to give some thought as to how it will work.
We have triple ups on the same number in the Auckland results, due mainly to mates turning up and having a crack on a mates bike. I don't know everyone well enough to sort out who the usual rider for these bikes are. I've got some ideas but if somebody could PM me the current Hawkes Bay and Wellington numbers it will give me a starting point.

Ok. Here is iteration one using the Auckland data from the results thus far this season and the Wellington numbers thread.
Comments?
Up to date info for Wellington and Hawkes bay would help.

Great list Henk. Wish I'd had that a few weeks ago. Anyway, 83 will do, even if it is a bit too close to Pumba (84)!

21 is taken in auckland please remove that one
Avalon and Keith both use it F4+F5
34 is taken in the F5 auckland buckets
45 is also taken in the F5 auckland
50 taken auckland F5
55 + 88 taken auckland everything ? (cant remember witch is F5 or F4 but would asume both)
just to help
I've changed 21 and 45. I was going off bike capacity not the results so bikes running in both confused me. I've still left the numbers that haven't turned up this year off and will let somebody else adjudicate those if conflicts arise. Seems a silly to reserve numbers for bikes that haven't been out of the shed in 9 months.

so you think I'd get away with using #16 in the b grade at the slipway :)
I might try and use #27 on my rs at the next TRRS
or #13 (could paint it black )
anyway it's all fun and games
TILL SOMEONE STEALS MY NUMBER !!!!!!!! (then I'd have to change it)

go for it, you're bound to be faster than I am, so as long as I get the points for #16 coming 2nd or something it's all good ;)

rules have always been the same I"M allowed to mock your not
they are in my book anyway
please re read the overtaking rule #1 thow will not overtake ME before the checkerd flag
Dutchee

I think the only one that will follow that rule is moi :) The rest will think you're fair game. If you really wanted that to happen, you could pay all the flag marshalls for the race and get them to hold out the yellows.
then again, it'd be easier/cheaper just to go buy a trophy (we heard about someone who'd go to a trailride and if he'd had a good day, buy himself a trophy on the way home - wonder if he'd be embarrassed if we started a thread asking him about that - naming names of course hahaha - no, no-one from buckets, just that made me think of him lol).
Updated Auckland numbers again. Spreadsheet in first post. If there is any up dated or new info from other than Auckland let me know.
I still have no data for the Pacific Club rounds at Roys Hill so if anyone has any info please let me know.
