Hey there guys, I am going to be obtaining my learners license very shortly so I am in the market for a 250CC sports bike.
I would like something that is going to be a bit of fun that also looks nice. After doing a bit of reading on these forums I have decided that something like a Honda CBR or Kawasaki ZXR would suit me nicely. (Just had a look at a Honda Spada and one of those would be pretty nifty as well)
But I am open to advice and opinions on others to look at and will consider anything.
I don't really want to spend over $3000 but if a great deal comes along I could probably stretch it a little bit ;D
I don't mind a little cosmetic damage (nicks in fairings, drop damage etc) as long as it is mechanically sound and well maintained.

PM me or reply to this thread with information (photos are appreciated) and we can go from there. Also, I am located in Hamilton.

Thanks,
Vin

These guys sell the sort of bike you want. They are a little over your budget but you should be able to talk them down.

They have a couple of bikes on trademe that aren't on the website. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-286456767.htm and http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-286380421.htm

Otherwise there is this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-286416044.htm which is a little out of the way and a bit rough but fairly cheap. If you buy privately take it too a mechanic to have them check it. I didn't and got a few surprises at my first WOF!

Dealers in Hamilton don't sell the older 250 sports bike only the new ninjas and hyosungs so you may have to travel!

Hey there, managed to find a Kawasaki ZR250 so no longer in the market. Thanks though, and good luck with the sale.
