What is the terrain like up there? What sort of tire would you reccomend for doing it? either a mid hard or a mid soft?
Anybody keen on coming up for the enduro there next week?

I am not in town, otherwise would be helping out marking & doing it :), normally I'd say mid soft, but last time I rode there was mid-hard territory. The bush stuff can get pretty wet & slippery if there is any rain. Give Mike a ring @ the Farm or email him, top bloke & he'll give you good advice.
Terrain, steepish farmland with native bush tracks, the farmland is like a scaled down operau, the bush tracks are nice. Not to sure that they've decided what parts to run the enduro yet, but should be a nice mixture of riding.

Im going. !
I talked with Mike recently, he said they've had a good dosage of rain, and that he has spent alot of time cutting new tracks, and that he is going to try and put in plenty of short technical sections.
Iv ordered a dunlop MX31 for this, which is a mid soft.

It is great enduro country, I went thru there on an adventure ride late last year on the 640 and it is great single track...watch out for the creek tho, I managed to flip the 640 into it...not my best moment!
I can't make the enduro up there but it should be a great ride.

Mud tyres may help in some sections but don't let your wheels stop rotating. Your new tyres will probably last the day but won't help you on off camber gnarly rooty sections which there are a few of. Sharp edges will definitely help. Copperhead Road will be a challenge and would be a good spot to sit for plenty of laughs and giggles...if you could get in there by foot. If you do ride it take your time going through or else you'll be in there overnight.
Heres some spycam pix of the new longdrop challenge. Not sure if it's included in the enduro or whether its in the intermediate or novice section. haha
In pix are FlyingCR250 at top, Mike going down, Bradz going down.

Whats the Copperhead Road like?

You go down a gully into a swamp and back up the other side. Lots of log crossings and a tin bridge, if you choose the wrong line you're either stuck or slipping down one of the many slopes. Don't worry it's an experts section so chances are you won't be riding it. I was fortunate, I had experts guiding me through it, otherwise I'd still be in there! The rest of the enduro is fun yet challenging and definitely a must to have a go.
Oh and yeah, definitely 2T territory.

LoL, I was up there earlier in April, didn't know it was an expert trail until too late. Spent about an hour going through the swamp, then lots more fun at the bridge crossing which starts with a felled tree underwater which you can't see but can certainly feel. All on my tod so no assistance, other option was no good, probably hour walk back to base. And I like blitzing the fast not v technical trails! Just as well they've got tons of them too. Awesome riding there going up in a few weeks...Anyway made it through.
The best bit, or at least made me feel bit better, was next day finding some fellar walking the track. He got a bike stuck down there too and they couldnt get it out, it spent the night in the swamp... Watch out for the leeches, nasty swamp, enjoy your ride

have seen them also, when i was in Europe in 05 the Pirelli tech's were doing that to std MT32's back then, i asked why and they told me it was for less kicking in braking, esp in soft conditions,

Yeh it was good. Tracks had all sorts the big loop was more flowing and open and the small loop had about 10 mins of first gear crawling along on a real tight track winding through trees. There wasnt anything realy hard there but would have been interesting in parts if was wet haha. The special stages... One was like a big MX track had table tops and doubles and some good hills. the other was a area on a hill all with bunting tape the whole way. lots of off camber corners was it was quiet dry up there.
