View Full Version : TV viewers driven crazy by ‘Crazy Frog’
Few commercial TV viewers can escape the sight of a motorbike-riding frog during advert breaks. The campaign is selling a £3 ringtone based on the Axel F theme tune from the film Beverly Hills Cop. The ad is being run on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and around 100 satellite channels. Crazy Frog's owner, the American company Jamster, is spending £7 million on the campaign this month alone.
And angry viewers have had enough. The Advertising Standards Agency has been bombarded with over 400 complaints about the advertisement for Crazy Frog ringtones, which has been described by some as the most annoying ever made.
Such is the apparent level of viewer unhappiness that the ASA website gives visitors advice on where to complain. ITV, amid fears of losing viewers due to the constant bombardment of the advertisment (on some channels, it appears twice in single ad breaks!), are ‘reviewing their position’.
i was in australia a few weeks ago and the crazy frog ringtone was on the tv every ad break, was funny the first few times but after that not very, havnt seen it here though

Tell me about it , Driving me up the bloody wall , no sign of local tv stations letting up yet , Wish I'd brought the bike over for day time rides to get away from this sh*t.
Thought the add breaks in NZ were bad enough.

Technically its not a song as it don't have any words :niceone:
Isn't it (the song and video) destined to be the number one music video on MTV or something?

Ah yes ... the vid based on "The Annoying Thing", which I posted on here many moons ago, as my avatar.
Shall I reintroduce it? I've still got it on my PC....
There was a news item about this on TV last night, which showed both the original "The Annoying Thing" and the newer, longer, NEW! IMPROVED! version.
My wife took one look at it, and said "I WANT THAT ON MY PHONE!!"

So by your definition, Bethoven's 5th symphony is nota song? Or Metallica's "Call of Ktulu"? No words doesn't mean it's not a song lol.
