I have a 91 cbr250rr, mc22 which I recently discovered has been pissing my hard earned dosh all over the road via a dodgy fuel pump.
Brand new is $350 and second hand from a wreckers $100 which still seems kinda pricey for what it is.
but anyway hoping someone on here may have one kicking around they can do a better deal on?
cheers!

Dude or dudet, I had the same prob with my 90 MC22. Nearly impossible to fix. Need to wait for parts to come on boat. Second hand means you just swap your prob for an unknown prob.
For the cost of $45 I went to Botany Honda and purchased a new diaphragm which is the internals of the pump.
Remove tank, remove fuel tap, remove fuel filter which is probably still inside tank. Clean or replace filter, 4 screws on side of tap, remove old diaphragm, clean out with CRC or somethin any crap left in tap, replace new diaphragm( carefull not to fuck the rubber) and reverse the removall procedure.
All up for me to operate on my own bike took less than an hour but I had done most of the procedure a few times with secondhand parts. Replace the shit bits and away laughing.
Fuel economy I went from 180ks to 230 ks a tank.

alrite! cheers bro, I called cyclespot and they said there was no such thing as a repair kit or anything and only choice was a new one at $350. I pulled it apart cleaned it all up and tried resealing it with new gasket glue but to no avail.
Botany honda sounds like the way to go tho thanks alot!!

I had taken the one off my bike but rode into Botany Honda with second hand one doing same thing. Spoke to service guys at Botany and they were very helpfull.
They went out of their way to look at it( took my old one with me to explain), they ripped it apart and told me what they tought the prob was. Took me into the shop there and grabbed the kit off the shelf.
It came with new spring, cap type bit with diaphragm in it, cover and 4 new screws to top it off all for the low low price of $44.
I was skeptical but it beet payin 350 which I was also quoted for new tap. And it worked a treat.
Again I thank Botany Honda for their service.
And no I don't work for them.
PS If you know anyone after a 1990 CBR250RR. Very regular serviced as I get holidays every 3 months and do it then. Let me know.
PS PS hope it works out for you
