In 1907 at Ormond Beach, Florida, he reached the record speed of 136 miles per hour (219 kilometers per hour) on his motorcycle powered by a 40-horsepower (30-kilowatt), V-8 engine. He began to be called "the fastest man alive."

I had never heard of this guy before.
He was quite an achiever, and came up with quite a few firsts in motorcycling and aviation.

Yeah I remember his name and the V8, but cant find any info on the bike, but heres a few of GLENN H.CURTISS ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I knew of his aircraft - mainly the Naval ones, but never knew about his motorcycle achievements...
Well the speed record wasn't officail as it was only timed one way and he broke the driveshaft or something before completing the return run.
The V8 was 4000cc and put out 40hp according to the info on the net.
