California superbike school. Anyone been? Was it valuable?

Im looking at booking some days at CSS in Oct / Nov. Ive been riding for 7 years, done a few track days and completed advanced road riding in UK.

To the people that have attended the CSS at Hampton Downs, how did you find it in terms of learining experience compard to your previous experience?

I have read and practiced drills from both of keith codes books and watched a lot of footage and interviews etc with people promoting the CSS. I reckon if its good enough for Leon Camier and Thomas Luthi, its good enough for me!!!!!!!!

What are you experiences please?

yeah well, i was thinking of doing a parachute jump for me birthday this year, but the CSS is somthing that i will use and develop. PLus I've got dicky knees and dont fancy a rough landing.

I did it when I bought the K1200R over in Sydney...the first two courses of the total four. Highly recommend, certainly made me a better rider.

For your reference, it doesn't matter where you attend the California Superbike School, you'll get the same content and same high quality training.

This is good to know as I'm looking at doing it. I thought it would be perfect to sort out my shit after my "setback".

I know the feeling mate. Am doing a training day at Manfeild on Monday and will likely venture to Hampton Downs once back in Auckland and summer rolls around.

Interested in this thread too , Course content looks great as does the track. Would people recommend taking your own bike or renting one of the track prepared GSXR600s to get / learn most out of it ?

Totally agree. I've already changed my attitude towards riding but hopefully I sort out a few more things before I plan to do it in about 6 months time.

I did CSS at Hampton downs back in march.
It was fantastic. could not find anything to complain about (and i try).
I learnt a shit load about bike control. I have only been riding two years now but even the guys who had been riding for a while said it was good.
I think the main part is this is not a track day, you do not go fast (untill the end), you have to go in with the "i don't know shit and they will teach me" ideal and if you can't get this into your head it might cause a few problems, one guy was spoken too about being to aggresive on the track.
It is also good that they have riders on the track following you and telling you what to/not to do and what you are doing right.
I will do the level two next year.

If you're comfortable with your bike, use it, otherwise hire one. Either way you'll learn plenty!

Their website doesn't list a price. Seen the DVD would like to get the books.
