After I get home from my next trip to sea I plan on buying a new bike,

Im 17, on my learner's, 6 foot and 100kg.

Im after a sports bike, The only thing around I see is the gt250 and the ninja.

Obviously Ill test ride them and see which one I like.

Im curious though, Have I missed an other potential options?
I have the money for a brand new bike so price isn't an issue.

I used to own a 89 GSXR250, It was pretty worn out, will I notice a substancial decrease in power when moving to these newer bikes?

Also Im a bit skeptical of the hyosung, Just appeared on the market and alot of people say they are badly made compared to the ninja's, trade me shows alot of people selling them second hand with only a short amout of time owning them???

Just really looking for advice on a second bike, All help is greatly appreciated!

(sorry if I just started another gt250r vs ninja 250r thread, I tried not to:shutup:)

the hyo's are all right mate, and since ur buying new, it will have a 2 year w'tee. not that powerful from the box but pipes will help and the new ones are efi so you might be able to do something there. at 6' and 100kg i think you will find the ninja more like a pocket bike.

the reason you see so many hyos for sale is most people only keep them til they got their full license.

The hyosungs aren't bad. The main thing is what bike fits you, the ninjas are physically smaller.
The VTR250 is the best of the bunch in terms of quality, my pick if money is not object:
Fuel Injection!

yup, build quality is excellent, but i'm 5'10" and they even feel way too small for me (unlike the hornet and hyos)

Best thing to do is go and sit on them and see how you like the riding styles. The rest will follow from there. Happy bike purchasing :niceone:
