View Full Version : Why is everyone so sad to sell everything?!

At the moment it seems as though it's a necessity to be sad about selling something, or at least say you are........namely vehicles.

What the fuck is going on?!

Do we really get that emotionally attached to steel with wheels, or has it just become an obligatory thing to write in an ad to somehow prove it's worth?

It seems if it's for sale, the owner is moving overseas, having a baby or namely- is "sad to sell it", or "sad to see it go". :bye:

For 99% of the cases, I call bullshit. If every damn vehicle seller that wrote that crap (which is the vast majority) was telling the truth, we'd have a lot more than one in five with a mental illness, and there would be no kiwis left in N.Z.

For the record, I never write i'm sad to sell it, if i'm selling it, it's because I want a change, not because i'm a masochist who enjoys making myself sad all the time......I love it when i've sold a vehicle and can go out looking for a new one.......am I alone here? Am I the only one who sells shit in the hope of selling it for greener pastures?!

I do take exceptions of being genuinely sad to sell a really good condition old Kingswood, A bike you really wanted but genuinely have to sell, but you see these stupid comments for some real un-impressive, standard things without any personality........highly replaceable in other words.

It does seem to be de rigueur these days to be sad to sell anything. I put all my vehicles on the market recently due to investing too much into my business and leaving us in the poor-house!

I definitely didn't want to sell any of them and am rather pleased to say I still have them all and we're still eating and still in our own home.

So if anyone wants a one-owner '07 C50T with 27,000km... :p

Well, I'm going to be a little sad to see my bike go (if it bloody sells) as its been my first bike, and one that has opened up a pretty incredible new world to me. So yes, i am sad to be selling it, but it has to be done to upgrade...

So Edbear... a 07 C50T huh? mmmmmmm have you got it listed anywhere? :)

Well.... It was here on KB and on TradeMe but I didn't bother relisting it, so at present it is sitting quietly and forlornly in my garage while awaiting the funds to re-register it and service it. :bye:

It's tormenting me, looking so sad and neglected... I might get it out this weekend and clean it and start it up, just to keep the battery alive and the fluids circulating, you understand... Nothing to do with missing it's V-twin beat... :innocent:

You might have to arm-wrestle me for it...

Hehe oh I'm just hopeless at arm wrestling, quite pathetic actually. Well, hopefully you can get it back out on the road soon, summer really isn't that far away - o.k, who am I kidding, winter is going to be sticking around for quite some time.

They are sad that they have to deal with the dropkicks that come around to their house to look at what they are selling.

And having wasted their time waiting for prospects to turn up and then ringing them only to be told they're "sorry but we've changed our mind and hope that's okay?"

Ed your post reminded me of when a young fella (long ago) going with the old man to have a look at an "immaculate " 850 Commando advertised in the Press, when we turned up there was plenty there amongst them a few patches and prospects,in turn they all took the thing for a ride,at one some stage the old man walked up to the seller and offered him a ridiculous price for which the reply was no better than "fuck off",he gave the guy his phone number and said "when you get sick of every cunt in the world with no money riding your bike give me a ring" took about a week then off to Christchurch to pick it up,was indeed immaculate. He kept it a few years then sold it to a bloke that worked for him for the same money he paid for it.Got some great old pics of it still.

Can go like that at times. I reckoned I could never live with my father we were like chalk and cheese. He wasn't smart though and I had little respect for him. Silly thing is that though he died in '89 I still wish he were alive. I guess blood really is thicker than water... :Offtopic:

I will be sad to see my car go. Genuinely. I like many many of its cool features, its power, its handling, even how it looks. But I do actually need the money for a tech course, and I simply cannot afford to keep a turbo subaru running anyway. However i DID NOT say that i was sad to sell it in my Auction details. Cos thats my business, and the new owner need not know that.

One of my bikes I was genuinely sad to see go - my learner bike.
The other, not so much but "Shitty suspension, cheap factory paintjob, developing rust in places that a 2yo bike should NOT be rusting..." probably isn't going to sell it, so you put a spin on the story & flick that pile of junk onto some poor unwitting fool.

The ones that take the cake imo are the ones who claim, "this is like selling one of my children" Seriously?? HTFU!!

Maybe its for mean people like me. I will buy your shit off you just to make you sad. It's better if you cry as I burn up your driveway on the way out. You better be sad tho, and not just a touch of remorse either, I expect full on runny mascara and a razor blade to the wrists, that would put an emo pussy to shame. Otherwise it might be construed as false advertising or breach of contract. Then I could bring back your piece of crap after thoroughly thrashing it and demand my money back.

Then you might be sad.
