View Full Version : 09: Muffler needs re-riveting
Can anyone help me out here?
Muffler is leaking badly. Rivets are very loose and cap closest to the header is very very loose.
Anyone able to drill the rivets out for me and replace with larger sized ones?
Am on North Shore.
Cheers.

Have you got some rivets? I've got a rivet gun and several drills...
Nope! I'm completely unfamiliar with rivets or what size the current ones would be (or anything to do with rivets at all really!). I'll go buy whatever is neccesary though!

Go to Placemakers or the like. Get a drill and a rivet gun (cheap!). Buy a selection of rivets and DIY. It's easy as. Even I can do it...
I hope you have better luck than me finding rivets.
Turns out mine are unique and never seen before here:rolleyes:

I would just pop into an engineering shop and get them to do it for you. Would only take a few minutes.
A CR3213-5-4 Cherry would be my pick - direct replacement for solid T4 rivets, will never loosen again.

Would be mine too.....
Heck, I do take so much for granted at times ;)
It's a great industry huh :)
