gsx250e witha 400 ?

so, i saw this..

Anyone done the ol' engine swap-a-roo ? is it a nice clean fit? i thought the frame was different, and that you'd have some kind of engine number mis-match thing. :sherlock:

as i happen to have the 250, i thought it might be a way to up my zing for little ping.... assuming i can find a kind donor....

As far as I can remember from playing with those things many years ago, they are the same engine with different barrels on them for the 250/400, so engine swap should be no problems.

The numbers won't match, but given the shambles that is the motor vehicle database I doubt anybody would even notice, let alone care. As long as the frame number matches the plate it's only an engine change, which wouldn't be unusual for anything almost 30 years old.

Hmmm positive.... so..... anyone in welly got a spare 81 gsx400 motor?

the gsx400, gs425, gs450, gs500 share the same bottom end so you have a number of options
Be aware that the exhausts may be diffrent for example the gs500 uses a 2 into one
