Just about finished mine in the dry, then the skies opened. But I didn't care.
Just hope for a nice wide road for the U turn. If not, when you stop, wind the front wheel round as far as you can get away with, you're half way there!!.

already booked and paid for, figured mid-morning will avoid the school and work traffic. As for rain, well anything can happen, it's palmy after all and to be honest I'd rather be in the rain than the wind . Gawd, I hope it's easy :D

I normally do'nt care.....but man look at the search function there's heaps, even recent ones with more answers than you will have questions.

No.
If you are ready the test is 100000x easier than you could imagine. Do'nt worry about it.

It's exactly the same but you ride a little bit longer, and may have to do more than just the one U-turn. And you get a green licence instead of a yellow one. It's that easy. Seriously.

yeh the guy gives you an earpiece an just tells you which streets to go down, and if he gets stuck in traffic he'll tell you to wait, some of the 100k bit for mine was on some pretty narrow roads just outside of palmy Te Matai rd I think, so just went a bit slower (wasn't sure if it was a 70k zone either).

yea, i know, but it's a 'test'. I figure if I can get as much advice as possible then I'm better prepared. My riding, at this point, is as good as it's gonna be for the test, and I have benefitted hugely from my friends comments, critisims, advice and *cough* swearing. I have this weekend to consider any last minute stuff, that my mates may not of thought of, that's why I did this post.

Te Matai rd? who did you book your test thru?

You'll be fine. Worrying about it will just make it worse. You know this crap - just do it.
Only advice I'll give, is relax and enjoy it. You will always remember this.

Listen to what the instructor tells you. My instructions were to pull over and wait if I lost him, or to return to the AA depot if he didn't turn up.
He was following me one moment, then the next he bloody well disappeared .... !
I was going to turn around and go back but I pulled over and waited, just a minute or so, and the next thing he pulled out of behind a couple of parked cars. I don't think it is normal for them to "test" you like that, but I was glad that I had listened carefully. The rest of the test was simple, although I took mine at 8.30am and it seemed like everyone was out to kill me, cars coming out of driveways, kids crossing the road, people doing u-turns in front of me. You'll be fine :)

I was worried about rain but the lady I booked with cheerfully said that it would only be cancelled if there was flooding and the road were under water! I had visions of lightning and thunder - of course it was a fine day and everything was ok.'
I had a lesson (my one and only) before hand to "warm" me up and the instructor put it in perspective - he said "you rode here and you made it in piece, so obviously you can ride - your nerves are what will make fail -get over them" hahahahaha and he was right of course

Best advice is to hope that it pisses down.
Sympathy for the poor little sodden biker ftw.
Thanks everyone, will let you know the result, Monday arvo :D

Practice, practice, practice. get to an unused parking lot and just try pulling tighter and tighter turns slower and slower until you're unphased turning anywhere.
Best of luck when you take it :-)

I'm legal!!!!! The test was entirely different to what I expected and on a different route to what all my mates have done, but they passed me, woohoo!!!
The U turn was on a very wide road and was easy, so now I'm gonna wash and polish my bike, then I'm out for a blat!
Thanks heaps you guys for all the advice it really was useful :D
