Yeh so watched star wars III last night.
Thought it was absoulutely totally crap. The acting of Obeone(sp?) made me want to cry. God, all the actors were so shit its unbelievable where do they find these ppl? Yoda annoyed the shit out of me with his ridiclous talknig technique, in the first one of the new ones when hes in it it makes sense but in the 3rd one jesus its just annoying
the robot clone bad guy things were stupid and the voices were annoying
the trade federation aliens sounded like terrible accented single digit IQ morons, who should all be shot
temurea morrison was cheesy as hell, he should stick to wife beating as he does in once were warriors where he was actually good and convincing of his role
the darth vader breathing scene was crap too, they coulda made it way better
whats with the cheesy changes to the next scene? sure having those shitty changes were ok in the 70s/80s or when you make a shit movie of your vacation in Windows Movie Maker but in a professional film? learn to use graphic match and fades and all that crap
the script was cheesy as hell, the senator "sith lord" guy should not to try look angry or evil, he should just stick to looking old or wahtever, where do they find these people?
what was with R2D2 and the cheesy beeps he made every time? everyone who made this movie should be forced to make bollywood movies, because then the ppl watchnig them are going to expect they are shit
some of the special effects were cool though
man, what a waste of time, im gonna read the books because the storyline is kickass, just the director needs to stick his 50million dollar budget up his ass
thats all

I haven't seen it, but reading various comments (from all the movies, not just this one) the problem is that George Lucas is very much a one-man band, and writes the screenplay, script, directs, etc. etc., and doesn't allow the actors to deviate from the script. Even very experienced and highly talented ones like Alec Guiness were told off when they said, "Hey George - this doesn't work; how about we do such-and-such instead?", which is normal for movies, and good directors will usually consider such input. However George insisted that the actors do it his way, as he knew best. I've read several comments from people like Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Liam Neeson, Alec Guiness, Harrison Ford, etc., who said the script really sucked, but they had to stick with it. That's why it ends up looking like they are crap actors, but at least they got paid very well for it.

Much disturbance in the force I feel, much anger young sutage padawan has..
More to it then just missing moolahs I believe......
Anger DOES lead to the dark side, and FEAR is a powerful tool for the Sith Lord...
Control your emotions, you must.......
Or betray you, your thoughts will!

Sorry Richard, just had to rub it in! :D
You gotta understand that this is the last episode of an epic for a generation...(like me  )...... Yes it was cheesy, Yes the script was stupid at times, Yes the acting could be better, and YES you could think of it as a waste of time/money.... BUT.... I LOVED IT!
It completes the 'circle or life' for the Star Wars franchise and having grown up with it I appreciate the 'motif' of them cheesy scene changes, intro, etc... coz that was there from the first episode... in fact watching it last nite it really brought me back to the 1st time I saw Star Wars (which was WAAAY b4 your time  ) becoz of those cheesy details!
So for what it's worth, I think it ROCKS! :Punk:

There are always varrying opinions. I loved it and I wasn't really much of huge starwars fan before that either.
Loved Portmans acting, though I could be biased...

Yes, anger is an opinion based on the film. However, your expectations are way too high if you expected anything more than has been previously released. Learn from your anger and channel it in the more appropriate movies. :grouphug:
PS I did not like this as much as I could.

Waddabout now that she's shaved her head? :spudwhat:

Well honestly she isn't very attractive with the shaved head, but it's not a permanent look. Besides what makes her special hasn't got much to do with the looks anyway. There are a lot of pretty girls around. Who she is as a person, from what I've read, is really what impressed me.

those comments you made sound almost like you haven't seen the previous star wars movies.. I'm no fanatic by any means, really not fussed about them, but I can appreciate the effort into the series of films over the years. Like the fading effects you mention. This is the 3rd movie, the 4th, 5th and 6th were the first out, so they can't go too overboard (which they have) with fades etc, else when you watch it in line, it won't match. I doubt it's gonna anyway, but that was the thinking of it..

I did too - her's was the one character that evidenced emotional depth. I actually believed that crappy line, "Anakin, you're breaking my heart." You could hear it go, "twangg."
Though having said that Ewan's "stiff-upper-lip" Obi Wan was very true to mid-20th century British male norms.

I watched it at school and thought it was 'average'. Some parts were funny, some parts were just stupid, maybe because i dont appreciate star wars? But yeh i wouldnt watch it again, that goes for starwars and spaceballs :D

Yoda and Solo (mainly cause of Ford playing the role :)) are the best characters

But yeh i wouldnt watch it again, that goes for starwars and spaceballs :DThat was a rather disappointing review of Spaceballs Mr Sutage, not quite the dynamic delivery of the Star Wars one above! :(
In short, I thought Spaceballs was absolute tripe! Just goes to show how each of us appreciates different things for different reasons in this life.
Ps. I still think you were waaaay too hard on Star Wars Episode 3! :sneaky2:

My friend has all the old ones on video which im gonna borrow next week and watch, atm im 'star wars'd out' after watching such shite, but maybe if ive seen the old ones it will explain why the new one is also crap :devil2:
and hey i understand about why they used shitty scene changes etc, but just because they were cool 30(?) years ago, doesnt mean they should still be used.. same goes for flairs.. some things should stay in the decades they came from :D
