Hey all, lil newbie here.. try bear with me here on the forums as I'm new to bikes and all :o I've always loved bikes but never really had any experience with them as such, so I thought... well best way to learn is to pull one apart and put it back together again (Don't worry I'm not completely alone and won't murder said bike! as my brother is an AirNZ engineer and good with his mechanics as such and promised to help :innocent: )
I got myself a project bike, a simple little Suzuki VanVan (Rv75) (also got a second one that I can use for parts for the better condition one) as my mum and her twin used to ride them n loved them so I thought "Hey, why not?"
There is one thing that I'd love help on, is that I'm finding it extremely hard to find other pieces for it that need replacing and I'd LOVE a manual for it, problem is I can't find a manual for a 75 anywhere, or did the 75 not come with one? As someone said that the RV50 is pretty similar to the 75 so could I try find the 50's manual?
Thankyou guys very, very much in advance

Hello and welcome to the forums Scymos.
a van van! well now I feel old! - I remember them when new! Im suprised that there are any left. Dont despair if you cant find a manual, you will discover that all the 75cc and 90cc suzukis of the era had much in common. with parts like levers chain brake shoes, grips, cables and handle bars -they are generic and many others will fit. check the fuel tank for rust in the fuel tap area and if the seat needs recovering or repair- contact me I do an awsome job - FIGJAM!

Hey,
I'm currently restoring a RV75 and am having the same trouble of finding information let alone parts.
Did you ever manage to find a manual? Do you have any parts left over?
Cheers, Chris

Hi Fattoes!
Sorry PM doesn't want to work for me for some reason :/....
Here be the reply for your' message :sweatdrop
It's a bit late and I haven't got the patience to work out why it won't work
Yeah sorry by the books-I mean I've got a "Suzuki Parts Catalogue- Suzuki RV75L" also got a "Suzuki Parts Catalogue- Suzuki RV90L" & "Suzuki Parts Catalogue- Suzuki RV50" on their way (hopefully all going well).
The Books have really well drawn exploded pictures of where everything belongs/goes & is really easy to figure out what's what (Which is great for a newbie like me!)
All the seats I have are a bit.. how would you say.... should be put to rest... heh they are a bit sad, I'm going to try save one of them and get it re-covered if it's able to be, and the fender? I've only got one good one!
Eheh.. being a trail bike(mostly used for) 4 out of the 5 are all but rusted where the back tail light used to be.. one of them have been.. 'bogged' so I'm hoping my Little Brother will help me with that part of things or hopefully one of his mates(as I know close to nothing about welding >.<)
Don't worry about costs for the book copies, I've got a dad who works in the printing industry.. I'll pop in and hopefully borrow one of his machines... (if I'm allowed :P -if not I'll scan them (I warn you though there will be a lot of emails <or I could write it to a cd and send it?>)
Well hopefully me & you aren't the only mad ones doing up these tough old little bikes, as it would be neat one day to actually have a 'Van-van miniclub' as though to speak & prove to everybody just because they are old and not ..so fast, they are still reliable beauties that can still Strut Their Stuff!
In the end what I really want to do as a long term goal is get at lest one road registered, I'm not sure I'll be able to but I'm going to keep trying till I do!
never give up.... *Keep Going & Going!*
(I was told that apparently that is what Van Van was meant to mean back in the "old'en days" weather or not it's true I don't know, the bikes have proven it to be true through the working one I have)
Sorry for the rabble.. Let me know what form you would like the Catalogue/books in -Scans on cd or photo copied
I can't promise it will be done in a day.. but I promise it will be before the end of the world :P
