All well a good. Yeah for Britten, but had this happened here in NZ the biker would have been blamed. Sad but true.

So he forced the bike into the path of oncoming traffic, because he thought that was the SAFE thing to do? Likely story... 8 months in prison and 2 and a half year driving ban, maybe he'll learn his lesson ... but it won't help the biker with life-altering injuries.

what a half arsed excuse, maybee this guy should just shoot his family now so they don't get hurt in the future. Stupid self-righteous pricks forcing their beliefs & morals onto the rest of us people like this should learn we CAN think for ourselves!!!

Just this morning a bunch of cyclists were going up our road 2 abreast as usual - start over taking up the blind hill then one of the dumb asses decides to go three abreast and take up the entire road. No ways was I going on the opposite site of a bind hill so jumped on the horn and gave them a mouth full of CO2 on the way past. Wish I had one of those really loud (Sabor?) horns fitted.

stebel horns you thinking of?

But yeh, sentence sounds about right actually, though a lifetime driving ban wouldn't be out of the question. You gotta wonder whether this was his first aggressive action towards bikers too.

Absofuckinlutely...

"But Judge David Hale at Warrington Crown Court said: “You’re a young married man with a loving family but any time any of us gets in a car we are taking control of half a tonne of lethal metal."

Only half a tonne... yeah, triple that and you're getting closer...

I assume every car I see on the road will try this.
Some have tried.

What a fuckin moron!!! 8 months is a fair sentance along with two and a half year driving ban, but they should have a new law called 'violation of common sense', and for that he should have too walk round in giant nappies and a dunce hat for and extra year. MORONIC FUCKFACE sums him up nicely.

"he maintains that he was trying to decrease the danger"

Yeah. Right.

Yup the number of times of had that happen is criminal, just goes to show you have to know what everyone else is doing as well as yourself just to stay alive on the road! hope that guy heals better than expected and the other guy gets a small dark "Cage" for a cell, hopefully hell relise what SAFE actually is when he gets out!

The thing that always puturbs me about court is you can never tell how it is going to go until the Judge speaks. Chances are if this was before a different judge a different outcome may have occurred.

From the information presented, I think this Judge reached a fair outcome.

JWish I had one of those really loud (Sabor?) horns fitted.

Stebel Nautilus Airhorn? Yeah, fuckin' loud and really useful for letting your displeasure be known to others. I find mine is a LOT better than the standard scooter horn which is too easily ignored by car drivers paying no attention.

"he maintains that he was trying to decrease the danger"

Yeah. Right.

More likely he was being a cunt! Trying to block a pass so that he didn't feel all inferior and inadequate. 8 months prison and 2.5 years suspension of license? Yeah the prick deserved all of that and more!

Yep, have to agree if this happened here the biker would be in jail and the driver of the car would get ACC payments for 'emotional damage"

I'm amazed the car driver didn't get away with it.

Many such accidents are caused by jealous car drivers.
