Some one needs to time the zimmer frame race, for the buggers to get on their bikes.

YYS suspension ? Is that some cheap chinese knockoff of the premium YSS suspension that one of New Zealands foremost suspension techs is supplying.

Glen racing post classics on a Harley would be interesting. Vee Twins are the logical choice for old timers.

Foremost? Ask the five riders who all lost their front ends and crashed their bikes all on the same day at Taupo several months back. There was a ''foremost'' common denominator. Yes I hear about these things and have seen the end results.
Thats ( for the sake of some shonky crusade to ''prove'' you can modify forks super cheaply ) messing with peoples wellbeing and lives, that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. It also builds mistrust of suspension tuners in general.

( Bear in mind also that Stephen Mossman is to my knowledge still on a stock rear shock, the FZR1000 shock of that period is none too clever )

I've got everything crossed that I get my engine back in time for the last few rounds
BTW, my vote is for Glen, just watch that front end 'old' chap!

So after spending up on the donk he's got a shit load of hp and shite suspension....to think I've got something nearly20years newer with the same problem sitting in the shed, D'OH!

I'd be pretty damn certain Neither wants the other to "smack talk" prior to saturday ! Pray for sun is all i say ! Or you might see nothing unless you chase the bears !

Yep, to be honest it is way better than just "good", engineered to an incredible standard that is quite amazing to be honest. Tech support on the other hand..............

Looks like Mossy has finally got some competition, I'm sure it will improve his riding. Glen is going to be hard to beat. GW01 1:13.2.

Mossy put up a pretty good fight in the early stages and he has got his starts down pat. We made a compression stack change to the rear shock for the second race and went half a sec quicker and had less tyre wear, so the YSS Suspension got the thumbs up from me. Shame we didnt have time to fit a third race in - but it was a funny ole day weather-wise and crash-fest wise.

Just imagine how much better again you would have gone with a real shock in it Glen, one made in a real country like Sweden or Austria or the US.

anyone with half a brain can do a prity good job of setting up suspension realy for most people it is good enough there is only a hand full of people in nz that can ride to a limit witch warrant alot better suspension and if top riders from the wsb rode there bikes it would not be near good enough for them!

Good enough is never good enough, to say its good enough is resigned acceptance and that means you are going to get beaten.
A lot better suspension gives you the confidence to go faster, fact.

Where did I directly mention Ohlins? You miss the point of what I said so I will repeat it, good enough is never good enough. At least if you are a true competitor.

And Craig is right, WP shocks are very good. And yes you are also right about the ''biological element'', a lot is down to that factor, ably proven by Glenn.

Well done Glen for setting new standards in the class.
Going to get rear end sorted next to try solve squat issue maybe get you working harder.
For those of you questioning doing engine first was by necessity due to cracked sleeve and was an unplanned repair.
Im hoping that a few more seasons on the saddle to start taking wins off Glen till then ill learn what i can from him.

Go Glen just dont get to much quicker to fast ok.

Learn what you can off Glen, the competition will definately improve your riding.
1:14.2 aint slow, (and I think a new PB for you).
I think by the time I get down there I'll be worried about being lapped by you two.

im just trying to get good enough to not get lapped during and endurance round.
yeh 14.2 is pb so Glens helping while im still in range.i think thats the new rear sprocket also as im not topping on the straights now so could be the reason .
track conditions were better when i set the old lap record in December.

Ill make glen refer to me as current champion for the next 5 months then he can refer to me as former champ.Hes learning fast and im tring to teach him what i can.LOL

What with all these FZR's knocking round I'll try and get Sean into gear for a go later in the winter, maybe when most of the bad weather has past...so next year then, maybe ;)
