LOL!!! Cat's naturally assume it's for them. I took a banana to work yesterday and wee Chino thought I'd brought it for him! He wasn't going to give it back, either!

Well I tried to take it off him, but something about the look in his eyes... He's probably smaller than most cats, too, but he takes on his Doberman "sister" without a thought!!

She's gorgeous, mate! The dogs are my daughter and son-in-law's and Chino is a Pappillion/Sydney Silkie cross and fully convinced he's human. He's delightful fun and we "babysit" him from time to time. Candy the Doberman is only 4mths old and just learning to handle her long legs and big feet! They got her as a guard dog for their new place and she'll be great for that as she's got the instinct there already with an impressively deep bark. But to us she's still a baby and needy of cuddles and reassurance. She's a "Blue" Doberman and very rare, they got her from a breeder down Thames way and he was very good!

I had a cat from a Siamese mother and a black alley father... bloody thievingest goddam cat I ever owned. It would pinch anything and everything as long as it was maybe edible...f'rinstance
1. I took a whole chicken out of the freezer. Put it to thaw. Phone rang. Answered call - 20 seconds all over. Go back to kitchen - chicken gone. Cat ripping down back stairs with whole frozen chicken - still in plastic wrap - in mouth and getting tangled in her feet. The chicken was bigger than the cat but she still claimed it...managed to get that one back.
2. Having a BBQ with the neighbours - pan snapper, freshly caught that day, on the barbie. And several more waiting their turn on the plate. Cat sits watching - in front of four adults. Now I knew this cat would have a go so we were all waiting for her attempt. But she was wayyy too cunning for that. Very patiently, she just sat and watched and waited. Sure enough, at one stage, all four pairs of eyes were off her. And she pounced. Grabbed a whole snapper (again as big as her [small cat]) and dived into the hedge right beside us - just out of reach...and proceeded to crunch up the whole fish, gloating all the time the bitch...
3. Organizing a dinner party. Centrepiece was to be a trout-in-aspic that I had spent all bloody afternoon preparing. Looked fabulous it did. Cat decided it was hers not ours. I hadn't even noticed her sneaking around. Turned my back for five seconds. There's a frigging great CRASH! from behind. Cat had jumped up on the table, dragged the entire plate with trout onto the floor - where it smashed into a million bits and spread trout all over the place. No sign of cat - even she knew when she was in deep shit. After they let me out of the strait-jacket I had to find someting else for dinner - can't remember what it was now. That whole evening is sorta red-coloured in my memory...
But for all that, she was one of the smartest cats I ever had. Bitch.

I must have booted the cat of the bed last night & for my efforts she rewarded me with a bloody great furball inside my jeans when I got up this morning.
She was hanging around looking for breakfast this morning too.:gob:
Just goes to show, dogs have owners & cats have staff:yes:

Got a Tonkinese cat. ( A mix of Siamese & Burmese.) Brightest thing I met on 4 legs. It watches, learns & copies. Bloody scary. Only safe cupboards we have, got kiddy locks on them. It controls the dog, entertains our visitors and joins us on walks. Nice natured fortunately but is very demanding of attention and loves its stomach rubbed. When we head away it will often travel in the car with us, no worries. Wife reckons I should take it on Bike rallies.

Yup... We had one of them. Unbelievably clever, it figured out how to open aluminium windows, push them open and get out. When the neighbours dog would bark through the fence, the cat used to front up on the other side and meow back at it, very loudly. Unfortunately it was too fond of cars and had no fear of them.
