Weather forecast is look VERY wet. One of the few organised rides is a new one out Clevedon way. After all that rain though it's sure to get muddy.

We are suppose to be going to have a look at Puke MCC race day, see what the mini's are like. Think it could be good for Brooky to race some good tracks on his new KTM. All he wants to do is some jumps though!!!

Last meeting at Puke this weekend - Mercer sand track next month.
If you want jumps, then the mini track is the place to be.
We'll be there!..

I think $25 at the sandpit wins over $200 at hampton downs anyday

now that could be debated.
i love the dirt aswell and am looking at heading up to the sandpit.
but its still really hard to beat the rush of hampton and other road tracks.
jsut my 2 cents worth

I know what you mean, I love riding the buell around Hampton downs, its just the cost that kills it for the amount of track time you get, but still come away with a big grin on my face,:2thumbsup and a set of pretty knackered tyres.:(

Nah...we've got 400 cows roaming the tracks. That should put the "A" into adrenalin.

Tracks are awesome at present. We put the Downer Works big grader from the car park right thru to the old carpark. Coast road is wheelie heaven for a few weeks anyway.

But on a more serious not will it be worthwhile trecking up from hams to the sandpit.
We really enjoyed Kimmys its just this whole dirt thing is new to me.
Cheers

If you crash into one and survive, do you get to keep the cow?
It's just I could really use some new winter boots.

I took the KTM for my first bush bashing ride and it's fair to say i'm an Orange Army convert.......i don't know why i was f@#king around with the KXF(not bagging it tho, wicked bike ,just not for me).I'd say without a doubt that i've found the perfect bike for my riding skill and the type of riding i do(looooove the leccy start)and was the best ride i've had at the Sandpit in my short riding career
So to all the KTM Army that i wound up in past posts i'm currently eating humble pie.......

Went riding up Putere on Saturday, awesome riding and land there. Forestry tracks, native bush, open farm land, huge mixture of riding. They had one loop, 53kms, the bike was well down on gas when I got back after the first loop, which rained for half of it, lots of mud around. 2nd lap was much better, ground was chewed up a bit more which helped out, and didnt help on a couple of hills but was a great ride, and a huge spread at lunch, will back there for sure!

Thanks L Rider. I think I saw you and your family standing up by the top corner - I should have come across and said hello. You going to come down for the Winter series at mercer?

Yes that would have been us. The boy is very keen to join the Puke Club. We are planning on taking him over to the practice day at Mercer the Monday of Queens Bday Wknd then go from there - still not exactly up on what they have when!

Mercer practice day is first Saturday of the month and clubday 3rd Sunday - not to sure why there's a practice on Queens Birthday Monday

It's an annual thing, it is the first opening of Mercer for the season. Normally huge numbers turn out because it is such a good track and it's the first time back there for the year.

One of the committee members at the mini track said there is an event on in either Taupo or Tokoroa (i forget which one) so they've made it Monday to not clash or something.

scott411
17th May 2010, 15:02
correct above, the 1st practice at mercer has been held the monday of queens brithday weekend for some time, the reason is that tokoroa has a major 2 day meeting that has been running for 20 odd years,
